Thailand Luxury Car Curbs Imposed

Featured Replies

Can't quote the article as it's in that prohibited source but here's the link, it seems it is going to get even more difficult to import a luxury car through parting it.

Only 315 cars imported since 2008? Is that really such a necessary priority? And it doesn't even distinguish how many of that number were considered "luxury" cars?... I guess one must assume all of them? huh.png

On second read maybe those are the only ones that have been imported legally through the system and not disassembled as "parts" cars.. But there goes any thoughts of trying to exploit or utilize that loop hole..

THere are over 300 MINIs alone listed on a prominent website of which almost all of them are imported either new or 2nd hand by grey market. So that 315 number would be likely FAR FAR lower than the real number.

If you just visit a single tent, sometimes you can see 10 2nd hand imported cars. No doubt there is some semantics on what is luxury and what is not....but for sure it's way lower than the reality.

I removed the link due to the below.
