Does Anybody Know Where These Two Beaches Are In Phuket?

I asked the owner of this youtube video and he hasn't responded back to me. There's two beaches in his video that I'd like to visit since I just arrived in Phuket but I can't find the names of them or where they are. The description says (kata, kamala, and patong) but I looked at videos and pictures of these places and they don't appear to be the same beaches he listed.

It won't allow me to post a link to the video, so could you please look the video up on youtube for me if you're familiar with beaches here. The user's name is "ThailandTL" and the video is called "Phuket Beaches". If you go to youtube and type in "thailandtl phuket beaches" it should bring up the video at the top of the search results. Both of the two beaches have steep stairs leading down to the beaches it looks like. Thank You.

The first beach is at the 2:00 marker in the video, and the second one is at 3:17.

Thank you if anyone recognizes these two places.

I can't find the video mentioned, but it shouldn't be too difficult to find a suitable beach to fill your needs. The beach at Patong is the LAST one I would recommend, unless you hotel was situated right on it. Everything in that location is over priced by double what you get elsewhere.

I've driven around the entire island, but I can't remember the names of all the beaches we visited. Some were quite a way from any known resort location. There are a whole series of beaches in every bay you visit.

The well known tower in Patong beach is seen in the back ground of this photo

I much preferred the smaller beach at Laem Sing, and unlike Patong, Laem Sing gets beautiful sunsets.

But there are lots of other beaches to choose from

Mai Khao beach on the northern outer coast hardly ever sees anyone

I'm fairly certain that what you mention as being the tower in Patong is in fact the tower in Karon. Kata beach is in the foreground, and Karon beach in the background.

You are correct

This is the video referred to:
I'm positive the first beach you ask about is Laem Sing, not sure about the second.

Yes, one was Laem Sing, with the dirt path to it and the last one was Kata Noi.

Old Croc said that not I. And the OP asked what were the last two. But you are correct the first one with the parasail looked like Surin.

Not sure what happened to this thread since I last checked, but my answer about the first beach being Laem Sing was in response to the question asked by the OP.

There's two beaches in his video that I'd like to visit ..................The first beach is at the 2:00 marker in the video, and the second one is at 3:17.

He didn't ask what was the first beach in the video.

Ian, your top photo is taken from the Kata viewpoint and the closest beach is Kata Noi, the middle one is Kata (Yai) and the far one is Karon. Patong is obscured by the hill in the background. This is a common mistake - even some tour brochures with a photo from this viewpoint describe the far-most beach as Patong - and some people will simply not be told on this point.

Thanks for the responses everybody (especially Old Croc and Jimi007 for pinpointing the names). I want to see as many beaches as I can while I'm here but would hate to miss those two in particular. Thanks again.

stay away from Laem Singh, its a rip off and u have to pay to park then walk down and the prices are double what u will pay in Kamala for chairs and food, Went there once after the tsunami to see why people like it, still cant figure it out. Never understood the herd mentality of Europeans.

Same goes for Surin. Drove by yesterday an it was less than 10% people but full of chairs on the beach

If u enjoy siting right next to Europeans so u can compare ur exotic vacation by all means go for it.

BUT if u want a nice beach with good food. Hit Kamala

If u want the beach to ursleve go to Na Yang during the week out by the airport.

TallFarangPhuket, I'm pretty sure the beach #1 (since 2.:00 of video) is small one between Kamala and Surin. You'll get there from the main roadway by downstairs, there are usually a lot of bikes and cars parked upstairs. Yep, it may be called Laem Sing, not sure.. Number 2 is Surin.
