I agree , there are many things to improve if you want to attract more tourists. The infrastrcutures are here you only need to do a VERY BIG clean up .... remove all hookers bars , oh sorry bars with hostess...have a better city planing , some nice roads , nice pavements without all those street vendors, remove all jetskis , corrupt police , corrupt mafia taxi ... What they need to start thinking about is ways to stop pushing them away or to at least keep them here while they have some. What they need to start thinking about is ways to stop pushing them away or to at least keep them here while they have some. Have the Phuket and Pattaya jet ski crowd handle the cars.. excuse me Mr Alonso there is a scratch on the Ferrari you pay me 20,000B. Pre-race entertainment could be the annual somtam cart race.....where the somtam carts have to navigate successfully around the track through 1000 scantily clad Issan girls all hungry for a spot of som tam. Thaksin could do a flyover before the race and game just to give everyone a thrill. Hmmm can't say I remember exactly the name of the roads, it's been a few years and we took a taxi but go north on VipHavadi and it's just north of Bangkok proper taking the exit after Future Park towards Nakhon Nayok direction but continuing west and not east, it's about 3 or 4 k's from there on the right hand side so you need to drive past and U-turn back.. For examples like Disney, Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Six Flags Parks, the draw is "what makes this theme park different?" Once people go to one, they want to see something different, but still on a fairly large scale.. The draw for each park is different. Disney has the rat. Busch Gardens has miniature European villages, each with themed rides and authentic cuisine and even imported candies and artisans from the respective countries, and Six Flags parks have more roller coasters than the rest. I worked with Orlando resorts, Disney and Sea World in the US, and hope they try something unique here. A good tourist draw could generate a lot of revenue, and if not in Bangkok, Pattaya or Phuket could really help the rural economies and help decentralize the country a bit. When Disney's management found out they issued a warning that anyone using the term in future would be fired instantly. Sortly afterwards emails started replacing it with 'Duckau'. Hilarious! I disagree, as a Florida native of more then 40 years it is way hotter feeling there with the humidity mostly close to 100% in the summer and that is about 20% higher then it is here by the humidity index.. JFYI I'm currently planning my return to Florida and looking forward to it and Orlando is my location of choice, can't wait to swim in Wakiva, Silver or Rainbow springs in the summer with my boys, a nice cool, crystal clean, refreshing spring. JFYI My career for most of that time there was outdoors so I have a pretty good sense of what the temp difference is I couldn't even think of not using the A/C where here in Bangkok at least I only use it at night to sleep and fans most of the day elsewhere.. JFYI Averages don't apply either as the dry winter months in Florida are significantly lower humidity then here too with the cold fronts they get so not really applicable as an accurate measure, need to take only the hottest months for example the summer months which work out to much more humidity in Florida..
