During a visit to Pattaya I went to the Ritz restaurant in Soi Yamoto with family and friends on Thursday.

My friend ordered mushroom soup which must have been a packet of cup-a-soup as there were no mushrooms in it and it just looked like water.

I ordered Braised Steak, had to ask for gravy and when I got into it, it was almost raw. I complained and the bitch who served me just laughed and said that I had asked for the Steak to be rare. When I told her Braised Steak didn’t get served rare she just laughed. I told her I wasn't paying for it and she started going off her head and shouting that she would get the Police, rather than have my family involved with all the fuss of the BB I paid but this was the most disgusting food I have ever seen in Thailand.

Be warned about this place. It should be called the Pitz and not the Ritz.

Maybe this was why the place was empty, what a dump.

Normally the food in Patters is good but the above mentioned place was absolutely disgusting, by both what was served and the arrogance and attitude of the staff. By far the worst place I've been to.

Braising for people who do not understand the cooking technique is a 2 step process requiring searing and then stewing with the protein covered 2/3rds by braising liquid. Cooking time required is hours instead of minutes. Impossible to cook at any temp but well done. Usually used for cuts of meat that are tough. I.E. chuck roast, lamb shanks and the such. Thanks for the heads up!

I used to eat there are the food was great. The breakfast was one of the best in town.

But I have not been there for a couple of years, as out of my normal way..

Sad to see the standards have slipped so much. Walked past the other day, and no-one inside. Used to be busy. That must be the reason.
