3 Monitors - One Portrait, Two Landscape

I'd like to add a third monitor to my system.

I've been reading a lot of ebooks lately and I want to add a new monitor to my system to display these technical manuals as I work on the other two screens.

I can control the orientation of the display inside windows 7 to turn it to portrait mode. I'll need an additional graphics card adding which is easy to do.

The problem I have is - all the monitors I've seen in the stores appear to only have an attachable stand/ base which allows you to view it in landscape mode.

If I simply prop up the monitor against my computers tower case it will work but the monitor slides down off the desk. I don't want to put something heavy at the bottom of the monitor to 'prop' it up - I'd rather get some kind of stand that's designed to work with it.

Has anyone seen anything like this. I know they are manufactured as I've seen them in the past but I can't remember where, it wasn't in Thailand though.

I haven't purchased the third monitor yet and in truth it doesn't need to be a real high spec one, or even that large, it's just that ebooks display much more information on a single page when they are in portrait mode. Also email seems to be better suited to portrait mode.

So the left monitor would be in portrait mode followed by the middle and right side monitors being in the more usual landscape mode.

I'm in Bangkok, not too bothered about the cost but I don't really want to pay more than the monitor for some kind of stand / holding device unless I really have to.

Yes, that's exactly what I'm looking for - something like that.

The only problem is, where to buy it in Bangkok.

Or something like this which costs about 3000 Baht in the UK :

Have you asked in pantip or a computer shop?

If you dont want to negotiate the whole add to cart thing I'm sure they would order you one.

I don't really want to import one from the US. Customs and shipping would cost more than the monitor.

I want to go and get one today or tomorrow and have a guarantee on it. I'm heading to the Fortune IT mall to browse around in about a half an hours time to see if I can find anything.

If you can wait a week then order a Dell monitor online, Dell will deliver to you in Bangkok. Haven't looked for a while but you should be able to get a 23" monitor for no more than 7000 baht. Second hand shops at Pantip usually have some 3 year old Dells for around 3500 baht. Otherwise I've seen Samsung shops selling 23" adjustable monitors for around 8,000 but the Dell versions are better.

Zeer Rangsit is maybe a better place for those kind second hand Monitors! Zeer is anyway bigger than Pantip and the prices are better as well.

My HP w2207H monitor goes either way, cost about 13,000 a couple of years ago but I think the price dropped a lot after I bought it.

complete different idea: If the monitor is big enough, maybe you can set a 2 page view?

(so you have 2 pages "portrait" side on side?)
