I gather it may not get assessed at all but if it does what's the duty on a 10,000 baht replica watch? Can't seem to find anything online for watches.

Also are there any issues with it being a copy? I mean they sell cheap copies everywhere it seems but I want a good one.

Thanks.

fake goods are illegal and may be seized at the discretion of the customs officer

what would be really funny ,was if they google the price and find out its a $20,000 rolex

and send you a tax bill based on that

Come on fess up what kind is it? Must be good at 10k. Their are zillions of parcels go through every day, you may have a problem, you may not. If you do have a problem they either confiscate the watch, or charge you duty on the cost of the real watch (if it is that good a copy that is what could happen), you then end up leaving said watch and lose your 10K. So what type is it?

Import a fake watch ????????????

If I knew where to buy a high quality (swiss internals and external looks high quality) replica in Thailand, I would buy it here, definitely. I don't want to buy a 1K replica on the street and although I've heard you can buy good replicas in MBK, I don't know enough about them to buy it myself.

So, I'm gonna use an online retailer that seems to be recommended by legitimate review sites.

I may get a montblanc timewalker or an omega seamaster.

I guess the next step is to ask some of the retailers if they've had any experience shipping to Thailand. Maybe they put replica or something on the box to legitimize it a bit, don't know. Seems like people in the west buy them. I don't mind getting burned for a few K in fees, but will not be happy if no watch at all.

hahahahaha "Maybe they put replica or something on the box to legitimize it a bit"

This one is good :-)

I still don't understand why it's so important to buy a watch, especially a fake watch, and from abroad !!!

But if you think so, ask seller to sed by REGULAR post office service (even Express mail, but from post, not a courier company as ups, fedex, dhl, tnt) and to write GIFT with a value of $20 on the box. People who give any other advice to not know what they are talking about.

Just make sure it isnt sent DHL or UPS or you can guarantee you will be hit very hard for excess duty etc.

Post office "signed for" and should be no issues.
