Farang Lady Raped By 3 Thais

Featured Replies

A farang lady from Switzerland, was brutally raped by 3 Thai (workers) nationals yesterday in Cha Am. She was only in this country for about a month, and is now in Hua Hins Hospital.sad.png

If it did indeed happen, it's irrelevant whether she is from Switzerland or anywhere else, the criminals responsible must be brought to justice.

I've not seen it in the news, please quote your source.

I believe they took tests to see if she was raped, and the results will be known in a few weeks time. Also she was apparently hit on the head in her own home, she is quite elderly and came after retiring in Switzerland, if the same lady as reported in the other paper. Some Christian organization is apparently helping her.

Source??? Or just more rumour.........

don't believe half of what you see and none of what you hear

Is there a link to this story?

I think Bangkok Post has the 'breaking news'....a thai man was arrested. No mention of a 3 man gang.

Yes its in the Bangkok Post, one man broke into the 65 year old woman's home, beat her and then raped her. He has been arrested.

Unfortunately we aren't allowed to quote or link Bangkok Post stories.

I know the Thai Manager of a series of resorts on Koh Samet, he tells me that it is not an uncommon occurrence that Western ladies are sexually assaulted by the local guys. However, these events apparently go unreported by the media or police. I give the information offered to me level of credence such that I relax and enjoy myself but am also careful.

I keep a close eye on my wife and do not even let her take a taxi on her own after dark in Bangkok. On the Islands which are lovely but also lawless to some extent we both maintain a high level of vigilance and exercise common sense while still enjoying ourselves.

Be careful out there. The thin veneer of smiles can often hide a sinister potential many of us fortunately never experience.

Very sad.

Im glad at least seemingly some proper tests and investigation is taking place.

If this Thai man (or any others) are guilty of this crime, hope they are brought to justice.

Wish her well in her recovery, both physically and mentally.

why call her a "farang". A Swiss lady would have been more appropriate. I find the word disrespectful and stupid for a foreigner to use..

I agree. I don't understand why foreigners call each other "farang." Perhaps to display their knowledge of the language or level of assimilation? Nevertheless, it is stupdid.
