Beware Of Beach Road

Featured Replies

The city has started setting up for the music festival which will be held this weekend (April 27-28) on Beach Road, which means those "wonderful" vendor booths are taking up the right lane to narrow the street to one lane. Then starting on Friday evening (I think) the street will be closed for the festival. Not a good time to come and shop in Pattaya (unless you like the repeated, repeated, repeated, repeated "stuff" sold at the vendor stalls.) I really question how much revenue these festivals - including the 8+day Songkran, brings into the businesses such as at Central Department store, hotels, and restaurants). I personally think it does the opposite since people don't want to drive in this mess and during Songkran get wet on a daily basis.

it must make a lot for the police, those stalls arent cheap to rent. considering the lights arent working on the beach at the moment the stalls may be a good idea to increase security

It's a Machine mate

you can't stop it

.

Now you know why Beach Road has to be extended to 3 lanes..........more space = more vendors in the future

The entire beach is rented out to vendors and scammers. The first and third lanes are rented out to vendors/motorbike rentals.

Must be a nice income for those fortunate to own this property...

No worries, I'll be chilling on the riverfront in Phnom Penh this weekend :)

I dont mind it, as long as the stalls are on the road and not the footpath its fine by me

We did this festival 2 years ago. It was a blast. Crowded? For sure. Fun? Yes! Got to see many top Thai bands. We parked over by Big C and walked down to Beach Road. Easy.
