Diploma In Cm?

Featured Replies

Im very lucky to get funding to live overseas for a year, but I must be studying an international standard of education.

The problem is I can not find a 1 year course in Thailand as a whole, or Chiang Mai to be more specific.

Im really not interested on anything to do with teaching, seems the only profession for westerners but not for me.

Does anyone know a diploma or equivalent education in chiang mai?

It seams insane I cant find anything cause i have had thai friends who studied at colleges, but there is nothing i can find online and i cant speak thai!

Any help would be awesome!

Josh

Check out the International Sustainable Development Studies Institute. ISDSI, check Google.

Payap University has Intensive Thai. You could study that for a year. It comes with a visa.

I called them, they only offer 1 month at a time, i suggested I register for all 8 programs at the start she said i cant do this....looked at CMU 1 year thai course, is only 200 hours and wouldnt get accredited in Australia as the hours needed for a 1 year course is 1200 hours.

I been trying to avoid CMU bachelors courses as they contain alot of useless subjects that I wouldnt be able to use towards credit in an Australian degree, but probably going to be my only choice to stay in Thailand a year..

Payap has an international school, instruction in English, which offers several 4 year BA degree programs. There are always some students from abroad studying there for one or two semesters and then returning home. Cost is affordable although you might have to live in a dorm the first semester.

If you haven't done so already, check with universities in Australia for study-abroad programs in Thailand. Or perhaps better, though not necessarily easier, check with your university of interest here, and inquire if they have student exchange programs in your country.

Chiang Mai U cooperates with some (many?) universities in other countries. Students can study here and have credits applied to one's home university. I did this for one year through the University of Wisconsin (USA) some years ago.

I think for universities outside of the Asean University Network, credit transfer is still hit or miss in this part of the world. However, it's suppose to become reality in 2015 with the ASEAN Credit Transfer System (ACTS).

Until then, check out this program at Payap University

What kind of a diploma are you looking to get?

Might be that if all you want to do is come to Thailand for one year there will not be a accredited course in your field and you will have to settle for what they have available,
