Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows somewhere or someone who can take care of our beloved 12 year old poddle cross terrier 'Pukky' perminately as we moving aboard.

Taking her with us is unfortunately out of the question. :( Someone who can take care and eventually love Pukky would be preffered, I know this might be a big ask but I thought I'd try! As we don't have ant other options at this stage.

Any information would be would be kindly appriciated!

Thank you.

Yes, definitely find that cute little guy a home ... he doesn't look like he would last too long as a Soi dog.

Did you research taking the dog to Australia or are you going on assumption? I only ask because I have a friend in Thailand that used to raise dogs up north and sell them to people out of country. I know he sold mostly into the US but know he also sold them all over the world. I am not in country now to ask him but just wondering if you have the proper papers showing all shots and stuff if it is not a problem. The guy I know too doesn't have a problem with cutting corners and it is possible he may not have been following proper procedures but I just wouldn't give up on taking the dog to Australia unless you confirm it is not possible or incredibly difficult.

Hi Nisa, thanks for your reply..

She would definitely not last long as a soi dog and we never think of letting her be one either!

I'm going on a bit of research and assumption, of course it's possible to take Pukky to Australia but this is our reason why we aren't taking her with us..

  • She would have to stay in Singapore for 6 months before being imported into Australia to make sure she meets all the AQIS import conditions. More information on this can be found here: http://www.daff.gov.au/aqis/cat-dogs/cat6?name=Thailand
  • The cost of bring Pukky to Australia is more than we can afford right now as I have a friend who brought their partners dog into Australia from another country and it costed them approximately AUD $15,000 ($480,000 THB).
  • She's already 12 years old.

Hope you can understand we're we are coming from.

Kind Regards,

Moving to Pets forum, also would you be willing to have Pukky live elsewhere in Thailand and help with the transport?

Thanks sbk for moving my thread & your response..

We ended up finding Pukky a new home through this forum. The person we found is an animal person and gentleman. Our minds are now at rest because Pukky will be well looked after! She we be missed greatly but we will be back to visit her every time we come back to Thailand/BKK.

I'd like to again thank everyone who responded to my thread and for the administrator's who run this site/forum. Without it we might of been stuck finding a Pukky a new home.. so a big thank you!

Mods are welcome to close my thread, cheers!
