Arrived two days ago and am staying in town, absolutely love it here. The people are friendly, its not expensive and is real good fun.

We are planning on going on a day tour and the main thing we wanna do on the day tour is snorkel. However as there are so many islands to choose from its a bit confusign as to which tour to go for. From what I understand Chicken island is a good spot but Ive also heard bamboo is too. But they are on different tours

Can anyone recommend which islands to go for, the two tours in mind are the phi phi islands tour which goes to Pileh Bay, Maya Bay, Phi Phi island, Lohsameh Bay, Viking cave and the Monkey beach.... or the 4 islands tour which include Poda and Tup, Chicken, Poda and Phranang cave?

One other thing is Maya bay reachable by kayak from Koh Phi Phi as a day trip there might kill two birds with one stone?

Thanks for reading this, I know its a bit of a long one

Phi Phi is just so overdone and a couple of those (Viking and Monkey) are fairly worthless. Maya Bay is chalk full of speedboats and other tourists, not my bag.

Do the second tour you talk of, and if you have the time for an overnighter in Phi Phi, do what you are thinking and daytrip kayak to Maya.

Most of all, have fun.

Agree, do the second tour. You used to be able to hire a longtail boat at Ao Nang and go where you want, only a short trip to the likes of Chicken Head island etc - I assume you can still do this
