For a Tourist Visa at the Consulate, by mail. Everything else is in order, and I was given the same thing from this Consulate 20 months ago. Any advice? It got there on Thursday. SHould I ignore and hope for the best or give them a call and resolve. I have many pages of entries without incident/overstay.

Consulates vary and so are unpredictable! But few would over look such an omission.

To avoid costly delay to your travel, do as suggested and fax a copy. Phone first if you do not have the number.

How can I make a copy with them in possession of it? I am in the US, seeking a 2 entry tourist visa.

Give them a call. Chances are they will just make the copy for you but if you call you can hopefully (at worse) pay a few cents to have them make the copy for you .... that is if they are even able/willing to locate your paperwork. You might even be able to get info from the person who answers the phone in terms of what their policy is when this happens as I am sure you are not the only one to have done this.

May I suggest that in your opening post you give people real time information like location, which consulate, this then prevents people wasting their time reading the topic if they are not from America or have dealt with an American consulate.

In the other forum here about visas to other countries, it is required though many people still do not use it correctly (pinned topics, give more info)

let's just call this Consulate friendlier than average......and it is within the US.

It will be a good idea when you do get your passport back to scan a copy and email it to yourself, then file it. Chances are, you will never need it, but if you ever do loose your passport, you'll be very happy to have it easily at hand.

I also scan and email myself copies of my airline tickets, travel insurance docs. and credit/debit cards.

Especially when traveling many places such as hotels will accept a fax or copy of a card for payment.

Can you remember the 16 digit number on all your credit/debit cards?
