uptheos
Been married 12 years and still get my breakfast in bed, she is wonderful. Yesterday we bought our first house and to see the smile on her face was worth the wait. However, after the house is bought in most Thai/Western relationships it's usually downhill. Not the next day! Popular Post David48
Since it’s Valentines Day maybe a wee story to share to get us back on track? Staying at the Lassie’s parents Farm in Thailand and they are Fish Farmers so essentially the whole Farm is one gigantic pond size of a couple of Football fields. Now, this Farm has one interesting aspect its directly under the flight path approach to Swampy and all big kids love those flying machines so I took up plane spotting. Well, I’m not in my 30’s any more and I need reading glasses and used these a lot when on the computer and when they are lost you are lost. Well I lost them. The whole Farm family turned the place upside down helping me look for them to no avail. At the ponds edge is a simple gazebo (for want of a better term). We spend a lot of time when it’s hot sitting here, enjoying the cool breezes which emanate from the lake, watching the amazing Farm sunsets or a resting place out of the sun while I'm waiting for the next plane to appear. My lassie thinks, that maybe it’s fallen into the pond through the cracks in the seat. The ponds water is way too turbid to visually spot them so what does she do? Off with the shoes and she feels for then gradually with her bare toes. Imagine standing at the shallow edge of a swimming pool, holding onto the side and slowly walking towards the deep end, feeling the way with your toes. What does a pond look like when it’s just been emptied? You can just imagine what it would feel like in bare feet! Everyone has a different way of showing their love. To this day, this still makes me smile ... OH ... we did find the glasses 2 days later. I had rested them on a bed whist raiding the fridge for a cool Leo ... .

David48
Did you get a ticking off for drinking then David? Actually no. It was one of the 2 Leos that the Farm mother bought me one day from the local shop. I didn't ask for them ... she just bought them for me. Gotta love that Farm Family ... BTW ... I do have an interesting twist on the 'Sick Buffalo' story ... but another day maybe! .

Popular Post Kaoboi Bebobp
Nothing wrong with taking your time. I spent twenty wonderful single years in Bangkok before finding someone to settle down with. Agreed. It's been nine years since I first set foot in Thailand. Last year I found the girl I really like. I'm not married (yet) but I am more "settled down" than I have been in any time of my life. By the way, she's my first Thai girlfriend. Ever. Yes, I was a pretty hard nut to crack and so was she. But then she's a mature type, over 40. We've only been together seven months and things could fall apart. But it won't be for lack of trying. Why? Because she's worth every rocky moment, because even in disagreement, she is also able to understand my point of view from my culture and then explain the situation in terms of her culture. She makes me think about how I act and what I say and makes me want to sharpen up. Not a bad thing, really. I'm -- wait for it! -- a better partner and person because of her. For example, just one of the things I learned: if I want an infrequent evening out to go smoothly, I let her win at pool. 555.
Pormax
Have to agree with many on here. It is good to see a thread like this. Good one 'Smokie' There are so many knockers on the forum about Thai ladies but I would hazard a guess a large percentage of those people should take a long hard look at themselves especially their brain. As I knew, so many out there with Thai wives are very happy with their new life, but it's still good to here. My wife and I have only been together for 4 years, has been fantastic. I love her, and she loves me for the person that I am, not my money (as I ain't got that much, and in real terms with all the land she owns she is richer than me). Now I suppose I shall have to wait another year or two for a pleasant thread like this.dam_n!

Popular Post Chittychangchang
Nice thread Smokie! Married for nine wonderful years, she has given me three intelligent, healthy, happy children. She works harder than me for our eventual retirement in Thailand. My dear departed father said in his last days of 2004 that she was the best thing to ever happen to me, he was correct.

muythai2013
wife is my best mate, we are joined at the hip. honestly it's not to everyones likeing but we never go out without each other or our 2 beautiful daughters, 6 months the other 9 years. fishing, swimming, muay thai, restaurants, museums etc, we dont enjoy it without each other or children. everyday is so joyfull in our house, we have very little money, always have had just a moderate wage, quite good but by no means wealthy, however we are happy. when we met i had nothing, she helped me through the hard times, got with me and stuck with me when i was really struggling. now we are kicking ass and happy, but when we had nothing we were really very happy then to.
Popular Post Colonel_Mustard
What a nice, positive thread. I'm delighted for all those that are so happily married. I've also been married here now to a wonderful woman who has given me the happiest 12 years of my life and 3 truly fantastic children. Here's to many more (years not kids!).

Popular Post richard_smith237
wife is my best mate, we are joined at the hip. Siamese Twin ? Lots of nice stories on here. This for all of us is normal life. The rest of the heart break and drama we read on this forum along with the scepticism is for those who are emotionally clumsy enough to trip over themselves in any relationship. Its sad to have to suggest, but some don't understand that a successful relationship takes effort from both sides. I'm sure those who have commented positively in this thread understand that and are naturally more giving.
