Popular Post rct99q
Just wanted to add one more personal post on this thread as it is so positive. Wife and I went to the Dr. for an ultrasound (on valentines day) as we are expecting our second child. Just a routine 2nd term scan but I really know my wife wanted to possibly find out if it was a boy or a girl....so after a few moments the Dr. zeroes in on the baby and my wife whispers....pu ying.....and has the most glorious smile on her face. Will be honest although we said it did not matter my wife (and possibly myself) were hoping for a girl (1st child is a boy). But it is now day 2 after finding out and she still has that smile on her face......so for anyone doubting that happiness (true happiness) can not be found here re-read through this thread there are many truly happy people living here in Thailand (even with it's sometimes darker moments)! And I pledge here to be a better poster....have read through some of my responses in previous posts and have come to the conclusion that my happiness skewed some of my thinking about life here in Thailand....but this thread has shown me that there are many, many people as happy as I am, So my apologies to anyone I may have tweaked in the past, I shall try very hard to be more positive.... Popular Post villagefarang
All this baby talk compels me to speak out for those of us who have found great happiness without giving into the biological urge to reproduce. Love, compassion, companionship, friendship, trust, loyalty, and yes a good dose of lust, even in longevity that stretches to more than 15 years now. First and last marriage for both of us. We are very happy, just the two of us, though we do have few too many pets.
Popular Post macksview
my lovely wife, things seem so good all the time, more and more i find myself just looking at her and feeling how lucky i am. i have learnt patience with age, my temper never rises, my waistline has increased, reflexes are slowing, grappling nutters at work is now the work of younger staff, the body aches after a day at work, but my eyes light up like a teenagers when i look at her.

prestburypark
Good to see a positive thread, thought I never would! I think the success stories outweigh the hard luck stories, but we are the silent majority. I am happily married as well, 5 years and together for 8 years. A struggle for us at first, but belief in each other and a bit of good luck means we are now living together here, in our own house, which , against all the common wisdom of TV, I let my mrs design and build. She managed the build. I kept away working and just came over in time to move into the finished article. It is ..almost perfect and we feel like lottery winners to be honest, grin at each other when we wake up and just enjoy it all so much. Good for all you positive folks out there, keep the faith. Dancealot
I've deleted a number of off topic posts and replies to them. I know many threads go off topic, and usually we let it slide. However, I'm intent on keeping this one on topic with its rare positive mood. Thanks everyone

Popular Post Kaoboi Bebobp
My Thai lady is lovely because she stays herself and doesn't wilfully change into a person i want her to be. She is strong! Yes, this! My GF knows who she is, what she needs to do and what makes her happy (hopefully, I do, in part). She goes about her day with strength of will and purpose, yet appears to do so effortlessly, gliding through the day, singing, joking, laughing, teasing. All the while running her recently opened Thai Isaan restaurant in Jomtien. (May I add she is a superb cook. On Valentine's Day she made me a special one-off beef stew dinner, using good Thai beef, that simply knocked me out. Otherwise, my diet is mostly Thai Isaan foods.) She's a rock! And yes, I do spoil her from time to time.

Popular Post Rob8891
Today was a red-letter day, and an important step nearer to what I hope will be something special and maybe permanent.... My lady has finally got her visa to come and visit,...She'll meet my family and see my home area for the first time. It dawned on me tonight that she's actually one step ahead of me, so I'm filling out my application for a Non-imm O, ready to go to LOS in April..... no burnt bridges, but every hope for a bright new future together.
kevvy
I know that this will seem like a group hug (until the nay-sayers arrive), but I'm 100% in accord with smokie36 ... my Thai Lady is also lovely Want to know more about Fish Farms or a simple Australian Visa Application ? I have a diamond Just goes to show that there are a lot of sincere genuine relationships out there and very nice to hear. If all your ladies are 1/2 as nice as mine (8 yrs together) then you all have gems.

Anyone recommend a truly romantic place to jet off to for a few days.....? Maybe a few words about the place and why...? No expense spared naturally.... jonnyscot
We went to Penang a couple years back, we both loved it, great street food, visited some temples and beach,,I made the wrong choice of hotel for location though, I booked into the traders in Georgetown, but got a free shuttle to the golden sands( or golden beach) hotel,, that seemed to be a decent hotel in a great location we had a nice relaxing and romantic holiday as we left the kids with the in laws,, made up for leaving them this year, we took them to HK Disney, they certainly loved it,
Popular Post lovelomsak
All I know is since she has been in my life I have never been happier. She has changed me in so many ways, and all for the better. She asks for nothing and loves everything I give her. When we are together she constantly takes care of my every need. She constantly wants to take care of me.I can do nothing when she is present,if I mention I will do something she immediately jumps up and does it for me. She is the cook laundry woman, electrician, bricklayer, dog groomer, gardener, cleaning lady and best wife ever.
Kaoboi Bebobp
Sorry, but just bumping this very worthwhile thread. There are almost 14,000 views!!! That tells me you want to read a happy story about Thai-foreigner relationships or you are already there. If the latter, tell us (and OP Smokie36, too). Mostly stayed at Unawatuna at the La Veranda Di Serina hotel right on the ocean. Just beautiful and laid back, reminded me of Thailand 15 years ago. Luckily wife enjoys curry. BTW a fresh coconut with good quality Arak is delicious as are the lobster.
