User Friendly Website To Find / Check Google Coordinates

Recommended Posts

I've tried some google searches but can't find anything which is, for my limited skills, user friendly.

I have two issues at hand:

- Friends in home country asking for the Google coordinates for my house location (Urbana village in the Don Chan area) and on 'street view'.

- Friends in home country just sent me some coordinates for their new house, and keeping asking if I found their house on the Google earth map and on 'street view'.

Recommendations of a user fiendly site would be much appreciated, thanks.

Have you tried maps.google.com?

First, finding co-ordinates of a place you know on the map, find the place you are looking for, for example Pun Pun Guesthouse:

Right click on the location and select 'What's here?' from the bottom of the menu box.

A green arrow will point to where you clicked, and in the search box at the top the co-ordinates of that location will appear.

Now, for one way of getting to street view, drag the yellow man above the zoom bar to the place on the map you want to view.

You can then use the arrows on the screen to have a look around.

Now, say someone gives you the co-ordinates 18.823229,99.022364.

You type them into the search box at the top and search, a green arrow appears at the correct location.

Left click on the green arrow and a box comes up. You need to click 'Streetview' below the picture for another way to get to street view.

And there you have the San Sai Bamboo Bar.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the detailed instructions. smile.png I think even I can do this albeit being an old 'paper map' guy. Will try for sure.

You know what, I never noticed the 'What's here?' part before. Just zoomed into my building's location and the co-ordinates pop into the box a the top of the page, easy peasy. Thanks to OP and the resident map genius.
