If it's proven he should be fitted up with a 'concrete overcoat' and consigned to the bottom of the Chao Phraya.

more than likely still survive.. seems he's quite used to being in deep water - prior to owning a Thai business he was a Manager & Divemaster for a company in the Cayman Islands according to this

powerful rich friends could come in handy at a time of need ?

Why is he not already in Jail? Prior drug dealings and free to continue dealing? These Farangs are nothing but trouble.....

Are we saying "All ffarangs are trouble"???? That is not very nice.

One thing worse than drug dealers are people who want other people dead, of course not by their own hands but by "someone" or "the authorities". Move along, take care of your own business alright?

I would willingly volunteer to be executioner with the satisfaction that I am doing society a favour and saving lives into the bargain from the poison weed.

I am sure there are others that would also be prepared to take up a position as executioners if the job came up on the job vacant classifieds.

But of course these dealers in death will receive a trial and be either incarcerated for the rest of their natural or put down according to the law of the land.

I certainly will not lose any sleep over them. Whatever way these death dealers are dealt with suits me, providing it results with them being out of society for good.

I don't think I have it in me to take a rifle, aim it at a living person's heart, and pull the trigger. Plenty of other people do, very few get the privilege to deal death as their sole purpose and get a state allowance to do so. Considering that the law is arbitrary (most countries do not have mandatory death sentences for drug related offences), that the person has not committed any act against myself, and that my only involvement here is reading it out of boredom on an internet website, I could be perfectly happy with a long or short jail sentence or even a simple expulsion from the country. I don't care, I don't feel the need to write stuff like "I hope they rot in jail" or "Let me be the one who pulls the trigger". that reminds me too much of the rich and famous who're traveling to Africa for the privilege to shoot an elephant or rhino because they have to be culled; just for the pleasure of being the one who does the killing. Maybe there's an opportunity for certain SEA governments to make money off the wealthy; 10 million US for a bullet would still find more buyers than they have death row candidates available. In any case, it's not as if the people on the top would be on trial here. And it is a stupid thing indeed to be a mule in a country that has only the harshest punishment for drug offences, and not be young, pretty and female at the same time.

Another Brit, a middle aged women discribed as the neighbor from hell in England and some other Brits have been arrested in Bali for smuggling £1.6 million worth of cocaine via Thailand.

It appears these Brits are a real nasty bunch, hardcore scum of the lowest order.

It is now likely that all will receive the death penalty.

Headline:

http://www.dailymail...arole-help.html

At least they won`t be serving a short term prison sentence in soft touch Britain, but will now face South East Asian justice, out of society forever.

When will these people even learn?

I have to admit, they look pretty fetching in orange. All they need now are some nice rope necklaces.

I have heard of uneducated, poor and desperate Thai street dealers, unable to speak a foreign language and without a passport, caught with a few grams being denied legal assistance, refused bail and sentenced to many years in jail. What did this man do to be allowed bail?

Teamoney STRIKES AGAIN!

seen the fella about_already nicked twice.....and now a third............deserve 2 b banged up......some people seem above the law.

payments here and there go a long way.

its the same with the bars---majority under police control.... thailand still hold the death penalty---my advice to farrang who travel 2 thailand is simple-

---buy or sell drugs at your peril- laws are there-and will be implemented_ backhanders help......but eventually your luck will run out.!!

if your wanting to travel to thailand for the very first time i would advise you to enjoy yourself..witness the wonderful thai culture--visit some of the worlds greatest landscapes...just dont trust people you have never met....many farrang will be guliable--its like no other country.....in thailand you can purchase everything and anything.....just keep your wits about you.....and avoid dodgy bars and beach road in the early hours of the morning if visiting pattaya.

and the jet skies which are owned by the local police.....when you return after enjoying 30 minutes-----will be told damage mister? happan dozens of time a day

just avoid like the plague.......

Completely agree with you

'we' are living in a beautiful country. If somebody want to live 'next' too the country law and they catch him, he have to get the punichement.

sorry to say but I am for the the dead penalty. You know where you stand when you start something like this in THailand.

Drugs ; stay away from it, it is doing more bad than good. I know , I last my daughter in this war.

Not all farangs are the same,

If we make a list of where the criminals are coming from, we will find - sorry to say- UK very high scoring.

but don't think we are all the same. There are no bad people under the Thai comunity ? Or they not all coming in the news paper.

The issue is not really personal choice when it comes to drugs but the related crime it leads to here as well as the lives it can ruin.

I am not a hang 'em high advocate but I cannot defend anyone involved in supply of illegal drugs and whatever the Thai laws prescribe is OK with me.

Without knowing all the details, I won't comment on the specific man in question and am talking generally here.

Not exactly the first time this sort of story gets reported. <insert nationality> man arrested for possession of <insert weight> of <insert drug> blah blah blah.

Then the wave of hang em, shoot em, scum of the earth etc etc posts, but then silence.

What does actually happen to these people? Do they get sentenced to anything?

Reporting seems to stop at the arrest stage - very occasionally a report of a sentence filters through but it is very rare.

If the 'harsh sentences' are supposed to be any form of deterrent, surely they should be reported. That is if any get to the sentencing stage....

Because he could afford to pay the BIB.

It's not rocket science, it's Thailand !!

I really don't understand the 'hang em high' brigade.

Taking drugs is a personal choice, same as smoking tobacco or drinking alcohol or over-eating.

This guy has done no-one on this forum any harm. It's not like he was a mugger or bag-snatcher.

Almost every adult I know has tried prohibited drugs for recreational purposes at some time in their lives.

(Viagra, cannabis, opiates, steroids, etc.)

And what about those of you who use prostitutes? You are also criminals.

Give it a break guys, you just make yourselves sound like right plonkers.

Total rubbish.

These drug dealers and suppliers target the young, the poor, the uneducated and the vulnerable. Their aim is to get these people hooked and dependant on their poison, it`s purely business for them.

The affects on hard-core drug users are devastating; it destroys them in mind, body and soul.

Third world countries are extremely lucrative for these drug dealers; this is why there are so many foreigners rotting away in Asian prisons.

As for your statement that; Almost every adult I know has tried prohibited drugs for recreational purposes at some time in their lives, I have no idea what sorts of people you are associated with, but all the adults I have ever known and are presently in my social circle, not one of them has ever tried drugs and that includes me. In fact I feel so strongly about this subject, that even if I discovered my own kids dealing drugs, I would turn them in without hesitation.

You do have a point regarding the tobacco. Back when I was knee igh ta grasshopper in the early 1960s, the tobacco companies actually had a campaign to encourage children to smoke. Tobacconists would often sell to the kids or give for free one cigarette at a time in order to get them hooked. You could buy cigarettes in packs of 5 in those days and I can remember being at school where it was considered cool to smoke and have a quick drag at the back of the cycle sheds. But being so young and naïve, we never realised that smoking could be harmful, we just thought that smoking made us look big and grown up. These days drugs have taken the place of cigarettes and again it`s the kids who are at the mercies of these evil people.

Please get real because it`s obvious that you do not have a clue as to what’s actually involved here.

From all of us who have children and families exposed to these despicable drug pushers..........It is our business, and i hope just they are all executed as they are caught............no reprieves for those who are guilty. As for the "dickheads" who support them by buying. If you want a real hit, please walk under a train !

Well, buying Viagra without a prescribtion is prohibited, and prostitution is prohibited and seems to be a drug to many visiting Thailand.

Well I'm almost 50.

I think the poster was trying to point-out the virtue behind sayings such as "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" and that, although dealing in controlled drugs is reprehensible and should be punished by, say, a prison sentence, advocating that the authorities "string 'em up' is a bit OTT and more akin to the middle ages, or the judicial system in places such as Iran, Saudi etc..

I for one am proud to come from a country that banned capital punishment more than a generation ago and show's no sign of bringing it back (despite what the Daily Mail says).

Three points you bring up.

First nobody has accused him of selling to children or locals, he sold to foreigners ........... not outside local schools.

Second I know loads of people taking Viagra, and I bet many, if not most of the foreign guys in Pattaya are using it occasionally.

(Even former presidents of the USA have admitted to trying drugs)

Thirdly why not read the story and see for yourself what the guy was doing, then you would have a clue.

If it is 'perfectly legal', why is producing moonshine, hooch, poteen or whatever you want to call home brewed spirits, illegal in most countries? If 'perfectly legal' it could also be sold to children but again, this is not the case in most countries. It is also true that thousands have been slaughtered on the roads around the world by drivers under the influence of this 'perfectly legal' drug. Legal maybe, perfect - definitely not.

Incidentally, at 60 years old I am also of the 'older more responsible generation' however my brain has not been quite so addled by alcohol to remember 40-50 years ago when people such as Janis Joplin, Lenny Bruce, Jim Morrison, Brian Jones, Billie Holliday and a whole lot more were consumed by one drug or another.

I like the quote: Mr. James Firth, Managing Director of their branch in Phuket stated in an email to Pattaya One “He has not been an employee <DELETED> for almost 2 years…”.

No, shure he wasn't...just a 'silent partner', hey?
