Why Are Westerners Resorting To Selling Drugs To Stay In Pattaya Instead Of Just Going Home?

Drugs all travel with an evil companion, we have to accept that if you allow desperate, psychotic and evil people to control the flow of drugs you will get the carnage we are currently seeing.

We have to legalise, treat it as a mental health issue, take the profit out of the hands of psychopaths and put it into the hands of pharmacies. After legalisation anyone found dealing should be subjected to a lifetime restriction order, anyone found guilty of selling drugs to kids should be charged with attempted murder, the penalty for dealing ( in effect creating new customers ) need to be severe.

Firstly thanks fro your excellent post and sorry to be snipping it but I would like to comment on this.

I had a flat in Ferryhill in Aberdeen some years ago and there was a pharmacy at the end of the road which dealt primarily with handing out smarties and methadone to junkies.

Regularly i would be offered these drugs for either cash or other drugs i might be able to offer them.

I'm sure many others were offered the same.

You see jun kies are not interested in rehabilitative effects of these things. They want diamorphine in large quantities.

Its cheap and works for them and I say give it to them. Then the entire criminal network associated with its supply will fall like the house of cards it is.

I had a flat near there! Sandilands Drive. Which is a pretty bad area, if not the worst in town. Likewise, I was offered drugs like valium and temazepam regularly. These drugs ironically saved my life - I was not a druggie but a chronic alcoholic.

Then you will know the pharmacy at the end of Ferryhill Terrace I was describing. That place always had a few junkies hanging around.

I worked at Foresterhill....in the hospital there and saw the worst of the problem...kids of 14/15 with belligerent attitudes and no real insight into their problems.

It was heartbreaking to see. Also the large number on Union Street on any given night...

I'm glad to have left to be honest.

Google the new movie The Angels Share, I know the lead actor Paul Brannigan, google his name and hear him talk about his battle to survive surrounded by drugs.

Paul lives in an area called Barrowfield in Glasgow, that's where those 2 notorious dealers I mentioned earlier come from. Barrowfield was the most murderous estate in the UK at one time, population 2,000, 11 murders in 3 years.

Paul is a young man trying his best, he has a young brother who has had a hell of a life, I met both through my business, Paul is taking on the part of mentor and parent for his bro. His bro is about 19, single parent, little girl, trying his best. Paul has had a tumoltuous life too. These are two young men trying not to drown in a sea of misery.

Paul does a lot of youth work too, and he was amazed to get a part in the movie. He was at the Cannes Film festival last month and he was overwhelmed by the attention and cameras. He burst into tears on the red carpet.

That young man trying his best for himself and his little family, in tears of disbelief, overwhelmed, just too much for him.

I'm not going to refer to anything in his family life, but believe what you read about him, in fact believe me, the untold story is staggering.

Paul Brannigan is a poster boy for hope, he has tried to help himself and others, he needs our help too.

Any drug dealers reading this, your trade comes at too high a price, do the right thing and walk away. We all make mistakes, real men correct them.

Walk away, just walk away from this evil trade.

Can someone do me a favour and post the link to Paul Brannigans interview with the Guardian newspaper please. I'm on my blackberry and I don't know how to do it.

There are only around 7,000/8,000 western residents in pattaya. In the past month 3 Englishman, a German and Norwegian man been caught selling drugs. I guarantee there are hundred more who are selling drugs to support themselves.

Strange. I read on TV that all the dealers were Africans

on lower Sukhumvit they, for the large part, all are.

I lved in Pattaya since 2004 till late 2011, but spend time there each month. In all that time, I was only once ever offered "recreational chemicals". This was from German guy back about 2006 trying to sell Viagra or some such stuff. So, I wonder who all the farang customers are who are buying. Must be a market for a seller to prosper. I would imagine that a farang selling drugs to people he doesn't know (eg other nationalities) would have to be pretty desperate.

but they don't sell to people they don't know. they sell to people they do know and that number increases exponentially as they continue selling.

a dealer doesn't sit in the corner of the bar fronting random people, they spend the night answering calls and going from place to place.

Desperation.....and when you go down this road you are a rancid murderous b*st*rd that deserves everything that's coming to you.

Did I mention I detest scumbag drug dealers?

Just sayin'

Remember some go down this road as they ate sick. Addiction is a disease.

And what do you mean , "rancid murderous b*st*rd"? What drugs are you talking about.

Do you drink alcohol? This drug causes a lot more harm compared to drugs like marijuana or heroin(if it's pure).

Does prohibition work? No, governments must control supply through licensed pharmacies. We must take the criminal profit out of drugs and treat it as a mental health issue. I'm not blind to that, the war on drugs has been lost.

I stand by my statement though, drug dealers are rancid murderous B*st*rds and scumbags.

Woow, mate sounds like best you move areas. Totally agree with the prohibition , it doesn't work, the drugs war in the uk, in particular

has been lost and is now v v secondary to the war against another unbeatable social tirade' terrorism'. Any way, my opinions on social drugs have swayed from totally legalising it to agreeing with current legislation. IMO rightly or wrongly it wont ever be legalised, one of the reasons being the abject social devastation that other legalised drugs have had, and what your asking the mps lords ect ect to do is to effectively say that taking these drugs is ok by us , can you see that happening, I cant.

That's not what he is saying at all rij...more like kill the illegal trade and legalise the current users. then dish out severely punitive sentences on anyone trying to sell it to youngsters.

That would be an excellent idea in my opinion. Even current users would be shopping the dealers!

Edit: Removed excessive quoting.

Re where I live, it might sound bizzare but it's a great place to live, the sense of community is outstanding. People know me, I do business here every day, when I walk the streets people know my name, I know them too.

Some people hate junkies, I feel empathy for them, I know they were tempted in, and eaten alive, I know how it happens, and it's too easy to condemn people for falling into the trap that dealers lay for them.

@smokie, thankr for posting the link.

Has anybody seem the latest Englishman Simon Hall, who is on his 3rd charge and probably last for selling drugs in pattaya.

Once a wealthy businessman, now thrown his life away. At 39 he should have gone home, plenty of time for him! Now looks like good few years in the monkey house.

Thailand is a great place to live, please stop resorting to selling drugs, there are a million and one ways to earn money living in Thailand, if needed!

@theblether apologies my choice of topic, opened up your emotional history.

You must have stayed locked in your home if you've only been approached once in 7 years. When in town I am approached several times a day, usually by the motocy riders.

There is a lot farangs here who are very connected and I'm not talking African either, they even fly it down from bangers to the tourist southern provinces

yes taking it through the airport is much smarter than a 4 hour car ride. Jake829 ladies and gentlemen. An expert on Thailand!

You ever hear of private aircraft? Little to no security at any airport on the planet, especially if the flight does not cross any borders.

Private landing strips fine ...... private aircraft landing at public airstrips in the USA are fenced in the main airport and subject to the same securtiy checks. Baggage for example is required to be checked the same way, and while they are defenitly more lax on searching the invididuals because they are more affluent you also can't carry much on your person. You probabbly are just observing from afar but if you look more closely you will see it's pretty much the same at the private hangers inside public airports. Doesn Warren Buffets bags get searched on Net Jets ? .... yes they do

Err, no they don't and I speak from personal experience as I am a comercial pilot.

You really shouldn't take a stance on things you know nothing about.

Sorry but they do ..... You can't even get to the private hangers without going through the main airport , next time you are at a public airport try and find the private gate ! lol ..... You can't because it's not there for the public , of course they have gates for staff and shipments ect , but not for people wanting to get on the planes .... not in 2012 !

This ceased to be Thai related long ago. Good posts, but we have to be careful about drug discussions here.
