Though I am no expert or remotely clever I would say it is highly unlikely.

Either the UK economy would have to have a significant upturn to have even the slightest upward effect or the Thai economy would have to collapse. Given the political turmoil and floods of the last few years have not really had an effect any situation that I can see having enough impact to cause that sort of shift in the exchange rate would almost certainly bring with it such social unrest and chaos as to make it very difficult to live here.

I read a month or so ago, somewhere on this forum, that the Thai chancellor/government over valued the baht making in seem stronger and that they will be reversing this making it weaker, nothing much has changed since then though. I also am no expert, but obviously keep an eye on the changing rates. I will try and find the original article just in case I dreamt it all.

It'll be at 45 or less within 18 months imo. If the Euro collapses then it'll be at 40.

Yep, that seems about right.

They say you should never say never, but despite that I'm fairly confident we'll never see 70 again, or 60, not in my lifetime at least.

Informed commentators are now saying that if the Euro implodes then the UK pound will be seen as a safe haven with investment piling in from many different countries, causing the pound to soar and crippling our competitiveness for exports, can't bloody win can you ?

Anything can happen.

In the 80s the norm was about 40 Bt =Pound but one tine in early 90s I got 33 which was yucky although beer was only about 20 dints a throw.

Then of course came the heady days of 97-98 when 95 bt = 1 pound was norm..(sorry no quid sign on com) which was "nice".After that it was all downhill again although most of the land I/we bought was at around 72 so cant complain.

Its been 48/50 for a while now but for the future....que sera..in the wonderfull world of international finance and trade you gota ask George Soros...but even he can..?>?
