Manchester United should stay away from Kaka

  • The Premier League Owl.com

A few rumours have started cropping up about the possibility of Manchester United taking Kaka on-loan from Real Madrid. If there’s any truth to that, then that’s not something to look forward to.

Kaka is finished as a tier-one player, he’s just someone living off his back catalogue now. For what he would cost in salary in relation to what he would contribute on the pitch, there’s absolutely no logic to this. There’s a novelty factor of seeing him play in England wand wearing a Manchester United shirt, but very little beyond that.

When was the last time you saw him live up to his reputation? Not since he was playing at the San Siro in 2009. In three full seasons in Madrid, he hasn’t at any point justified his price tag or even properly held down a first-team place. As inconceivable as it would have been to say this a couple of years ago, he would be nothing but squad filler at United.

I would be stunned if Sir Alex Ferguson fell into this trap, because if the player was of any value then Jose Mourinho wouldn’t even dream of allowing him to leave Spain. No chance, Kaka is the past – wait until you watch Shinji Kagawa and then decide whether this side needs a thirty year-old playmaker whose legs have gone.

Man of the match for us has to De Gea he getting better you can tell but as the old saying goes rome wasn't built in a day ? also Kagawa played some nice balls tonight ?

Henriquez planning to play

United move excites youngster, as Red Devils eye Herrera

Manchester United-bound Angelo Henriquez claims he is heading to England looking to play, while the Red Devils have asked about Hector Herrera.

Universidad de Chile have announced that Henriquez is on his way to Old Trafford in a deal worth £3.5million.

The teenage frontman will further bolster Sir Alex Ferguson's attacking ranks, but is viewed as one for the future.

Henriquez does not plan on spending much time in the shadows, though, with it his intention to push for a starting berth and make a similar impact to that made by Javier Hernandez following his arrival in the Premier League.

"If I go Manchester United it is to play," the youngster told El Mercurio.

Minutes

"The team will be involved in several competitions, so I have the opportunity to get minutes on the pitch with the first team.

"I have spoken to Alex Ferguson and he said that I would be under consideration this season. That excites me.

"I know that I will have a very difficult task because there are players in the team like (Wayne) Rooney, (Robin) Van Persie and Chicharito Hernandez, but I couldn't let this chance go by."

Meanwhile, the sporting director of Mexican side Pachuca claims to have received an expression of interest from United regarding highly-rated midfielder Herrera.

"It's an official interest, we already have the document, but there is nothing more than that," Andres Fassi told ESPN Deportes

Also looks like we have another Midfielder coming Hector Herrera.

carrick at centre-back? valencia at right-back? interesting.

Just got back from Goodison. United were very poor tonight. Nani, Evra and Rooney particularly disappointing. Fellini totall dominated a united, and to be honest he is probably the sort of player that Utd could do with. Lot of possession, but wasteful crosses, and often playing too narrow, defensively always looked frail at set pieces.

Everton deserved the win, and could have had more, a couple of smart saves from De Gea.

Now to look forward to a flight back to Bangkok tomorrow.

If sweet pea wasn't prepared to fight for a place then he should have joined Wigan. A club with a wage cap of 250k a week is always going to sign big names after all.

Well when I saw how we set up (conservative) predictable that result was. Typical, concede then only then do we start to play attacking football. But against well organized teams like Everton who know how to close shop, tough to play catch up. Why we dont come out guns blazing with a full attacking line-up against teams like this is beyond me. As soon as we made the changes young/nani RVP/ welbeck Everton put 10 behind the ball.

Carrick was woeful at CB as expected. Nani was poor. Evra Grade D.

Kags played well and looks like he will fit in nicely. RVP came on with 17 mins left and barely had a touch.

Fellani was very good for Everton. Would love him in the middle of our team, big hair and all.

how is valencia at rightback and carrick at centreback 'conservative' james?

Did you watch it Stevie? Valencia got forward maybe 2x all game. Carrick has nothing to do with being conservative - lack of fit defenders again. The set up going forward was conservative. We play this way against Chelsea and Arsenal and most times it works. It doesn't work against teams that don't attack aggressively by nature - like Everton.

mister ferguson doesn't seem to have seen it that way as it goes: "we were the better football team. we had possession and made some great openings. we played good football, good combination play. [fellaini] is a handful, a big, tall, gangly lad, and they just lumped the ball forward to him, that's all they did."

Well I won't blame the ref but Everton also hit the post / cross bar 2x that weren't the result of Fellani's head so I don't know what the boss was looking at. Perhaps he should get HD Glasses like my TV lol

maybe the fact stevie that Rafael and Chica just finished the olympics deemed a rest was in order was the factor. glad to see you watch our matches though. I will try to watch your next one if I dont have something more important to do. keep grasping though, I am here all day ;)

Perhaps Kaka is the missing link?

Under such circumstances there is no way tiredness would have stopped Ferguson picking a specialist right back.

What is more to the point is when are your center backs fit because pending on who you are playing you'll get ripped apart.

actually I thought Cleverly and Kags did quite ok. We were piss poor down the flanks and trying to play tic tac toe around their box too much. Btw, good morning and thanks for joining the programme already in progress.

Did not watch the game due to having to go to work, but from what i can gather felani ripped us to pieces again,Carrick was needed in midfield so why play him in defence when you have a specialist center back in Wootton on the bench, was alway's going to be a hard game to start the season, so not the end of the world, from what i hear nani was wasteful rooney had the toch of a rapist and looked unfit. positives i hear Kagawa and big Dave who had a great game in goal and kept us in it.

Clearly Ferguson doesn't think Wooton is ready at this level. Are any of your crocked center backs returning next weekend?

I don't know mate, sad state of affairs having 5 center back"s and 4 are already injured, there is talk that Evan's is back in training now.

Evans is supposedly in training and might be back. Carrick didn't do too bad to be fair, the issue was more in midfield, and how they were unable to physically assert themselves. I really think United are missing and have been missing a physical presence in the centre of midfield. I was surprised that they didn't stat with Anderson last night, given the way Everton play and that the defense had to be totally rejigged.
