Human remains found on remote Island off the coast of Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Human remains were found on a beach in a remote Island off the coast of Pattaya on Wednesday afternoon.

A Pattaya Sea Rescue Unit was sent to Pie Island approximately 8 Nautical Miles off the coast of Pattaya. The remains were taken to the Bali Hai Port where they were initially examined and it was determined the person, gender or nationality unknown, did not die from natural causes. It appeared that both feet had been cut-off and the whereabouts of the victim’s head is unknown.

Does anyone keep a count of the number of dead bodies found in the waters off Pattaya? It seems like one every few days and there are probably more that sink without being found. Even for this part of the world it's a lot.

Actually, it can be done. A few years ago there was a rope found hanging from a bridge over the river in Bangkok. There was a head at the end of the rope but the body had fallen into the river. If they didn't recover the body it would have ended up down here in the sea. If he'd lost his feet in a traffic accident - not uncommon in Thailand - that might be the reason he killed himself.
