Will Buriram Airport Never Reopened ?

Featured Replies

hello!

I stay with my girlfriend over the wintertime in phakam area about 80 km outside Buriram !

In the Internet I read Buriram airport close now, because not much people fly!

Are some information avalible, that the airport will reopen aigain in the future?

When I want fly from Bangkok what is the nearest airport?

Sent from my iPhone using ThaiVisa app

korat with trb.

korat is miles away shame

well, no airport, then. take the bus.

Roi Et too far? That's still on Nok Air's routing.

If Phakam is north of Buriram, it would be a short drive but "80 km outside" is meaningless without a direction!

How about Ubon Ratchatani?

If Korat is already to far, Ubon is then totally out of the question.

Buriram -> Korat = +/- 130 KM

Buriram -> Ubon = +/- 290 KM

Issan Air not flying there anymore?

I have a house not far from Buriram... near Nang Rong. I always take a taxi direct from Bangkok. Usually its about 3500 THB, a flight will likely be about the same or more. It only takes about 4 hours driving... with transfer, wait time, baggage etc... a flight wouldnt be any faster. And with a car you have the benefit of being able to stop whenever you want. I find it much more relaxing than yet another flight... especially after a long inbound flight to BKK.

Transportation in Buriram should be straight forward.

There are thousands of old farangs living with soi Nana and Buckhao bar wives in Buriram.

Ask Otto or Gary for a lift in his pick up truck next time he drives into BKK to drop off a 50 kg sack of dried pik for 'kind brothers' working in BKK.
