hello my friends

after my last topic that end up creating nothing( i mean job )

i tried to start new topic about baking and havind a pastry (Confectionery)

as i realized people in thailand especially tourists in pattaya they love to eat and have coffee with doughnut (donut) or eat at central festival in food hall

and i saw the prizes a cake as 2 pounds Chocolate Cak is 1,200- Baht wich i have a professional Chef(cook) that could bake this in a prize : 200 Baht or even cheaper

i had 2 breakfast outside my hotel when i was in thailand and i dont remmember how much i payed for a piece of cake .. how much is a piece of cake in thailand could someone tell me that?

so here is what i have in mind:

i start a bakery or pastry (Confectionery) or what ever you call it and then i put the big Branch in a good erea and other beanches all over the city

the money is not an issue ... so i want to know couple of thing :

1- in iran ovens work with ga, is it the same in thailand or they work with Electricity in thailand?

2- how much is gas or Electricity i mean how much should i pay in month for using?

3- how much will store cost in good erea and lets say in central festival?

4- how much is a piece of cake?

5- how much should i pay Employee's for selling and handling the customers?

6- is there any one who did this(bakery or pastry (Confectionery)) or still have this job?

7- lets say im starting this bakery in bkk and in the best erea (Rich region) is that gonna work?

8- can i work with other shops or coffee shops or stores i mean can i supply them too?

9- is there anything that im missing?

thank you so much for your help... i'll never forget...

1- in iran ovens work with ga, is it the same in thailand or they work with Electricity in thailand?

That depends on the oven you buy.

2- how much is gas or Electricity i mean how much should i pay in month for using?

That depends on much the oven uses.

3- how much will store cost in good erea and lets say in central festival?

You can walk around in that area and ask people, or you can check out the classifieds. That would give you first-hand answers.

4- how much is a piece of cake?

laugh.png What did your market research find out? I am sure you checked this before coming up with the idea.

5- how much should i pay Employee's for selling and handling the customers?

And how many employees do you need, you forgot to ask.

6- is there any one who did this(bakery or pastry (Confectionery)) or still have this job?

This is actually a very good question! I would recommend a local partner with experience in the business.

7- lets say im starting this bakery in bkk and in the best erea (Rich region) is that gonna work?

I am not sure you are familiar with Bangkok. The "best area" depends on what you are looking for: Mainly Thai people, mainly Westeners, or mainly students (who I can imagine are a good market for pastries, as your market analysis might have shown).

8- can i work with other shops or coffee shops or stores i mean can i supply them too?

That entirely depends on the quality of your products, the price, and your sales skills. Don't forget to make a SWOT analysis, and also check Porter's Five-Force Model for the Pastry and Cake industry in Thailand.

9- is there anything that im missing?

I can imagine that you will need an FDA licence.

1. You might find some answers here. Once you find the oven you know from your past experience suits your needs, you can ask the supplier for a price. I can believe that some pastry chefs prefer gas, others prefer electric ovens, but I am not an expert. I guess the decision is yours, based on your past experience as a pastry chef.

2. I really don't know the salaries and wages in the pastry business. Since you are going to make the market research, this could be a good question to also research on.

Sorry buy have you been to Thailand?I mean your questions sounds like you never been in Thailand? You need to walk around and get to know what area you should be in.Ask the Thai staff in restaurants what they have for salery, look for competionen, what do they have?products, location etc.I done restaurants and cafe before and i learn that whay, a lot of leg work. Now I have to say I think your idea is a good one if you have enoguh capital.Lets say in Pattaya or Phuket in Central there are nice smal shops/cafe with all kinds of cakes, chocoolate and more.I just take a number to give you a idea,3-4milion baht to set up a smal place like this places, deposits for rent, maschines, stock, and some working capital. But they most importent thing do you you know how to do it?bake?or you going to hire some one?Can be very hard because people are not trust about work here.Today ok tomorow they are gone and I would say forget to find a Thai with the skills, foreigner ok but hard to find.good luck, not a bad idea, maby i do it laugh.png.

shit just remember dont have any money biggrin.png

Doesn't the OP have to employ 6 natives and show mega cash to get a work permit. ?

4 Thai nationals and 2 million Baht per work permit. But I am sure he has researched this already.
