More then a fair share of tartan in Thailand ... Givin' it laldy.

Of the Sassenach (English), there are many.

Aussies number well too.

The Yanks are spotted thereabouts

But a Scotsman ... A'place

For a country of 5 million odd, there does seems to be a large proportion of members of Scottish decent who have an affinity for Thailand.

So come on you Sons of Scotland ... declare yourself as such.

Tell us why your ass is in Thailand (or want's to be) and your heart is still in Scotland

Ay ... A need tae practice ma Scots.

I have Scottish blood on my mothers side..does that count?

Sure ... but just how much blue blood flows in them veins son?

I'll show my hand.

There is some genuine Scots in me. All Aussies can trace back their fatherland.

My Great-Grandfather (fathers side) emigrated to Australia from Scotland.

My mothers maiden name is XXXX and there is a XXXX family castle in Scotland, which we have visited and toured.

It was my great grandfather who emmigrated also.

I spoke in a Scottish accent for the first 5 years of my life. No one could understand a word I said except my sister. Obviously skipped a couple of generations.

I am artfully frugal in most pursuits in life.

I have pale white skin.

Its bad enough having Jimmie Krankie; if you were one of us as well, we'd have no choice but to hang our heads in shame...

We should be grateful for small mercies.

My blood flows tartan.

That reminds me of the saddest day of my life.

You see I cut my finger while I was helping my father planting the tatties, and he was pleased at first to see my good tartan blood flowing strong.

Then he said, "Son....I'm sure that's no ma tartan laddie...I'm certain of it!"

Then he plunged his trowel deep through his heart to prove it.

I won't bother you with the outcome as this type of humour surely is enough proof.

Its my belief that we simply love to travel....quite why we all love Thailand so much is however a mystery. Well not entirely of course.....but maybe some can shed some light.

I'm in for the beaches girls heat and chilled out people....

Edit: I've been told to use the word girl in such situations....

When I was 21 I moved from the north of England to the highlands of Scotland. I spent five years there and loved every minute. Thailand is a piece of pish to live in after that smile.png

I keep telling you all I have the best of both worlds....biggrin.png
