Short Wave Portable Radio

I use for home "Sangean" all mode AM FM SSB / 0-30mhz and FM / SW radio.

They come with a 20m long wire and work well in the middle of Bangkok here, albeit I use the internet mostly these days as it ensures a proper S9 reception of the stations I want to listen to. It seems short wave radio is being relegated to the past these days ..

Brought mine in Ban Moor in Bangkok 10 years ago ..

There are cheap ones from China you'll be able to pick up at places that sell cheap junk, I had one 10 years ago while living in the sticks in Brazil, the only English-language stuff I could pick up was BBC and sometimes VOA. I looked into getting a better one and it seemed (at that time) the ones that were notably better were in the US$300 range, Opinion was there were only 2 worthwhile brands (can't recall which), and that there was little reception-quality difference in the $10-$200 range.

Many stations around the world now stream their broadcasts onto the internet, so it is sort of displaced technology now. Should the net collapse, though, ....
