What would you lads/lasses recommend for a bank?

My girlfriend and I will be working in thailand for probably a long time , and obviously need a bank account there.

Is it possible to open an account before arriving in Thailand?

What documentation will be needed?

Thai Farmers Bank / Kasikorn Bank

You must be present here to open a bank account. You would preferrable need a Non-Immigrant visa, Tourist visas can work at some bank branches, but NO guarantees. Some bank offices require a work permit to open a simple savings account; just walk out the door and try next branch
