Does anyone know where I can rent a newish Automatic truck or SUV for a few months at least? I dont want to pay more than 15k a month with insurance included. If i can find a good deal I might rent up to 6months.

You'll be very lucky to rent a "newish" one for 15k/month, unless you commit to 6 months from the start. Taking it on a month by month basis you'd be looking at 18-20k. But good luck, I hope you get sorted out.

You have to search around the smaller thai places , but min for a hi lux would be around 17!

Would it not be better for the OP to buy then sell? More and more of the '6 monthers' seem to be doing that with motorbikes now.
