phuturatica
I'm looking for new movie suggestions. I appears to have exhausted my movie collection and I need more to keep my pleasant Saturday going. Favourite movie of all time? (P.S. I just watched Mary Poppins after not seeing it since I was a child!)

BookMan
Hard to have just ONE fave movie of all time. Let me mention a few I have had over time, in no particular order. I have excuded most blockbuster actions movies, of which i am also a fan: My own Private idaho (1991) Fight club. Amelie (French movie) (beautiful quirky romance) Bourne Identity A Walk To Remember (mandy Moore, soppy tearjerker/motivational) The Big Lebowski Shawshank Redemption (based on a stephen king short story) The Great gatsby, 1974ish version. (see it before the new one comes out!) Inception (2010) Forrest Gump A Prophet (also French) Shutter Island Winter's Bone The Road (based on Cormac mccarthy book of same title. very bleak.) The Adjutsment Bureau Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind City of God incendies (a masterpiece of a movie)
carmine
Doesn't seem much point in running off a list of all time classics so heres a selection off the top of my head that you should hopefully enjoy Fargo American Beauty The Fisher King Little Miss Sunshine Days of Heaven Millers Crossing Good Night and Good Luck Burn After Reading Intolerable Cruelty The Guard Hope you enjoy
chrisinth
Not sure what movies you are into phuturatica, but if you have a sense of humour that drifts towards black comedies, I would suggest: Love, Honour & Obey Death at a Funeral The Guard (as suggested by carmine) First two are British and the Guard is based on the Irish Garda (police) All three guaranteed to bring a smile to your face (even if you don't like black humour!)........... If you get a 7.0 or above on a movie it is almost always good. Shawshank Redemption is the best movie ever made it rates a 9.2

overherebc
For me has to be 'A Shot in The Dark' I believe the first in the series with Peter Sellers. Some of the funniest lines in movies and way way better than the ones made later, similar to the Bond movies, only Sean Connery could do it.
