Non-imm. 'o' Visa Application In Vietnam

Featured Replies

looks like I'll be going to work in VN sometime soon. In the past I've obtained non-imm. 'O' visas from the RT embassy in the UAE and Bahrain without difficulty. I have read on this forum of difficulties that people have had obtaining these visas at various RT embassies/consulates in SE Asia. Has anyone ever applied at the RT consulate in HCMC or at the embassy in Hanoi? Anything of note to advise?

thanks in advance...

There was a post awhile ago but believe it was in reference to a B type visa. You should advise your reason for the O visa and supporting documentation you have as that is probably critical.

hi lop...I've got all the docs and if things proceed per usual like in the UAE and Bahrain I don't even have to show up at the embassy...my wife does it all for me. I have heard that visa applications are to be avoided in Hong Kong, Singapore and Cambodia. I just wondered what to expect in Vietnam.

Vietnam is almost a black hole for visa reporting on the forum but what you want is a multi entry O visa and you have a Thai wife for reason. So if anyone has been down that road in Vietnam recently please advise.

Please find below an official communication I've recently got from the Emabassy in Hanoi:

Dear Sir,

With reference to your message, we would like to inform you that you can only get Non-Immigrant visa “O” with single entry at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi. In order to get this category of visa, you should prepare the following documents:

1. Passport ( at least 6 months validity),

2. Copy of Marriage Certificate

3. Copy of your Thai wife’s passport and Household Registration

4. Fill in 2 application forms at the Embassy, attached with 2 photos (size 4x6cm)

5. 60 USD for visa fee (to paid in US Dollar).

It takes one day to get visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Hanoi. Visa application: 08.30 hrs - 12.00 hrs, from Monday to Friday.

However, you should visit our website at www.thaiembassy.org.vn for further information.

PS: the URL of the siote is incorrect.
