White Cars In Thailand

Featured Replies

Is there a logical reason why white cars are always a little bit more than any other cars here when buying new?

In the case of the March I think it is pearlescent paint so costs more, not sure what other makers charge more for white

They say it's cos a special paint run at factory. rolleyes.gif

Is white the most popular color here?

It use to be silver-grey...than black...and now white...and yes, with some brands you pay more for the white pearl effect, but if you buy a Toyota truck,it costs 5K less...

White used to be almost nonexistent here.

As was previously stated, the only up charge for white as far as I know is for the pearl, as it is a more expensive process. Similarly (particularly on lower end vehicles) there is often an up-charge for metallic. Don’t see a lot of two-tones, but these usually cost a little more or are part of an optional package of some kind

I thought about white but saw a dirty whit swift the other day. Just a speck of dirt and they look filthy. I'm a bit fussy with cleanliness; so I ordered a blue swift instead...and I like the colour more and not so common as the typical white/sliver/black/gold you see here.

Someone somewhere said that white was a safer color because it is so easy to see. The story spread and became fashionable.

I think in fact that yellow is the first colour that the mind registers at distance, hence the succes of the yellow cab co in New York. A deliberate move on the part of the founder

If you were more fussy about cars you'd never have bought the Swift. Not sure what a whit Swift is though.

White is not more, pearl is

White does have longer wait times due to being popular

What is also cooler parked out in the Thai sun

At night it has to be easier to see

I think some cars look good in white, the Fortuner in white looks great.

White and silver is actually a good color to get because you don't see scratch marks as easy and doesnt look as dirty. BUT silver cars are freaking everywhere.

On the contrary white cars still look white even when they are a bit grubby. Black is the worst, very little dust and....

Some years ago the company was going to buy me a VW Passat. I did the normal thing and got three quotes the dealer with the largest volume only sold white ones for that reason.

Then there will be white everywhere and new car buyers will move onto another colour.

I remember watching a TV program where a panel or designers and colour experts was discussing/deciding what colours in general would be the new in colours for the following year. They worked for large paint companies, dye companies etc. The year I was watching they had decided that white was in.

Thanks for your infomative post! Did you come to brag about your new white merc/bmw? Some of us don't need a huge gas guzzler in bkk, thanks:) If you don't know what "whit" was mean't to be, it says a lot for your intelligence....next....
