Fridge/Freezer Repairs

Does anyone have the number of reliable freezer repair guy.

i have an 18 month old freezer that thermostat has packed up on.

I have tried 2 repair shops in Phuket Town but they can not be bothered to do it so they have given me numbers of people they use for repairs but after waiting in for 3 days now neither of them have turned up and will not answer the phone.

Rawai area preferable but any good recommendation welcome.

there's a place on jao faa west, around the PTT station area but on the other side of the road. they fixed an old fridge of mine but i took it in. i doubt they make house calls.

That's the Samsung official agent. I have had a couple of fridges repaired there, zero guarantee, expensive (6,0000 baht). and they stopped working in less than 6 months. These days I just scrap and buy new (and not Samsung)..

Yes i have used them before also and was reluctant to go there as they kept my tv for 6 weeks and then it packed up after 2 weeks but I was fed up with driving around trying to find someone to repair it.

I don't want to scrap it as it is a 15,000 bht 18 month old freezer.

I started off calling the company who make the freezer in Bkk to see if they have an agent down here. Unfortunately they don't but they have an engineer come down every 6 weeks and you guessed it I have just missed him.

Oh, sorry about your experience! I must add that all I wanted was the genuine flexible hose for inside my washing machine and one for the outside, too. They both had disintegrated (6 years old) at my old place, but it didn't matter there as the machine was out the back and the water was good for the grass!

But in my new place the machine is inside the house so I needed new hoses. They ordered them from Bangkok at what I thought was a reasonable price 3 or 400 baht, I think.

There is another guy east of Robinson in Phuket Town who has no legs and gets about on a stool with wheels. I had my microwave repaired there - new MW engine - and it's still going after two years.

Oh, but the OP may well have to take the machine to him, so not much use. I'll attach the pictures anyway:

All it is is a straight forward thermostat problem, the thermostat is broken so the freezer is running all the time and it just needs a new thermostat as simple as that.

I then called your guy Valentine he came on Monday took the thermostat out put it back and said broken need to order new one.OK order one then

Called him Friday said he would come tomorrow.

Called him late yesterday.Part not come yet.

Well why the f---K did I wait in all day for you then.

So that's were I stand at the moment.

I will give him a couple more days but not holding my breath

Well it's a good job I didn't hold my breath.Four weeks on and endless phone calls to the guy I was still waiting so I told him to forget it and sourced a thermostat from Keehin and did it myself.

So if you ever find anyone with any idea of what they are doing please let me know.

Glad to see you're back. Yes, if I find a good 'un, I'll post the info.

But that reminds me of what my landlord said to me after one of his carpenter guys did a fantastic repair job on a very badly damaged solid wood surface in the house when I first moved in. I said "Wow, what a good job he's made of that. I know some farangs who would like to use him to fix up problems in their homes. Can I have is number?"

He said: "No, he only works for me. I don't want him to work for anyone else."

Which I think means: "I don't want this brilliant old guy to realise how good he is and get paid lots of money by farangs."

Regarding Mr India... What has happened? Someone said he's moving because his shop is being refurbished like others in the pier road. I called him because I've run out - I had the last one from the freezer - and no one answered the phone! I can't live without my Chicken Madras with extra chillis.

I have had fridge and dryer repaired by Sompong, price seemed reasonable to me and they came to my house.

Yes, I've also heard they're going to refurbish that part of Chalong pier road now.

Again, I know a good guy from freezer, frdige, washing machines, tv's, etc. repairs.

Back open on the 15th (Saturday) on the Phuket Town road, about 700 metres up from Chalong Circle, on the right hand side - not quite as far as The Wine Connection.
