A week on wednesday I'll be starting my dream life in the Land of Smiles :)

Maybe I'll see you around.

Should be starting to learn the language at school from next January.

I felt a little bad that you had not gotten a reply, until I realized that all the jaded posters have ignored it as well... That could be a good thing!

Congrats, have fun and enjoy yourself.

I'm just going to study Thai, cooking, Muay Thai, Meditation, plus chill out and have a good time while I build my online business.

be prepared for bad driving ,people with the brain power of a goat ,being a second class citizen ,having less rights than a Thai begger in the streets and having to either do a visa run or go to immegration every three months it certainly aint Kansas Toto ,but we love it ,enjoysmile.png

Good luck in your new adventure, been 18 months for me now and still no regrets.....except one (have struggled learning Thai).

So.........don't wait until January, start now and try and make it fun for yourself.

That's about my only advice apart from of course........enjoy yourself.

Cheers. welcomeani.gif

You will love it here, but also depends on what type of personality you have.

Its great for some people and not for others.

I think you should try learning the language first, you will enjoy it much more...... Trust me

I think some here would kill for the status of second class citizen if it were official laugh.png. Good luck, and if you socialise with Thais and don`t spend too much time in the farang ghettoes the language isn`t difficult to pick up.

Good luck on your adventures.

Best peice of advice. Don't think to much about what happens or try to work it out. You will only give yourself a headache. thumbsup.gifsmile.png

My old English teacher told me more than 55 years ago:

"You've got to have a pie before you can have a piece."

I've never forgotten that.

What I love most about Thailand besides my dear wife, great food, great exchange rate, smiling happy folks, is the fact that in our village people know their neighbours and intermingle with them. Where Im from in Australia this seems to have disappeared and its kinda sad.
