The International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute concluded a fact-finding mission to Rangoon, Naypyidaw, Mandalay and Pegu on Aug. 19. The mission set out to assess the genuineness of the Burmese authorities’ commitment to serious law reform and human rights, the world’s leading legal organization said in a press release on Thursday. While no findings have so far been revealed by the London-based association, it said a report would be published before the end of the year. The report will serve as the basis for the association’s future engagement with Burma.
