Thai Multiple-enry Non-imm Visa Renewal

Featured Replies

Hello.

I am about to leave my job in Saudi Arabia to join my family in Thailand on a permenant basis.

My wife is Thai, and we have 2 childen(both attending High School in Thailand).

I have applied for a Multiple Entry Non-Immigrant visa at the Thai Consulate in Jeddah, KSA. That's no problem. I know that once in Thailand, I have to leave LOS after each 90 day period to renew my legal status. But what happens after the 12 months period? Do I need to obtain a new Multiple Entry visa outside Thailand?

Any comments welcomed ! :o

Yes and the best place to do that is Penang.

What you would be expected to do is support your Thai wife and that requires income/savings in the amount of 400,000 in a Thai bank account that you can show immigration each year. If not employed in Thailand the source would have to be from overseas. You can apply during the last 30 days of any or your 90 day entries to make the total time 1 year if you can meet the requirements so that is how most people live here.

Thanks for the info. Lopburi. But why Penang? What about Phnom Phen or Vientaine? :o

In short at Penang you are likely to get what you want - at others you are likely to be disappointed.
