a friend of mine has a thai boyfriend (not husband so it makes a difference)w/o visa (i.e.his five years are up, therefore illegally here and work visa cannot ever be extended beyond that) at moment;

they are working on all aspects, and organizing paperwork etc with legal advise however, they need to get a police record from bangkok police only (israeli doesnt recognize any other police station documentation). to get the police record while the man is here in israel, the police requested his ID card (got it) and also a letter from the local thai consulate here in tel aviv for a letter stating that the guy WANTS to stay in israel.

this is a first for me, but maybe they are thinking he is being held against hs will as a worker? at any rate, anyone know what this is? is there a form? my husband got his papers in thailand at the police. this guy cannot leave here as he doesnt have visa status and cannot get visa status w/o this paper.

(this info was related to us (girl friend and her thai b/f) by the man's ex wife (yeah yeah i ahve warned her. not my business beyond that) so im thinking something was lost in translation??? or is there a link on the police site (and yes the guy reads thai but thai males are bad with beurocracy and information seeking so need help)\

this is a major ASAP for her as they have a hearing this week ; any idea. (she doesnt read english, therefore, me)

pm me or reply here, anyone....

anyone???

thai police in bangkok wanting a letter from thai consulate in foreign country stating the person wants to stay in the foreign country?

the thai police will not give a letter of having no police record w/o this letter; she needs help... the man cannot leave israel as has no visa; if he leaves he will be denied entry until everything is processed ( months) or not at all (immigration discretion)... this is a usual scenario, nothing wrong with it, except that there is the option of just getting the documentation w/o going to thailand... obviously she will ask the consulate but they are not always cooperative nor do they always know the same things as in bangkok...

Special Branch does police clearance certificates. Website: http://www.sbpolice.go.th/

This from clearance center website http://pcscenter.sb....th/eservice.php

An applicant residing abroad

• Certified photocopy of valid passport

• Certified photocopy of Thai Visa

• Document(s) stating that the applicant is used to work or reside in Thailand .

• A photocopy of Thai working permit (if available)

• Paper of power of attorney ( If authorised someone )

• Letter explain the purpose of request and which country to use ( only one country )

• Two photographs ( 1 inch or 2 inches )

• Two sets of original fingerprint. Fingerprint must be taken at local police or Thai Consulate or Thai Embassy in your country together with the official seal and signature of the official taking the fingerprint.

• A self addressed envelope enclosed with the postage fee (equivalent to five international postage vouchers which can be purchased at your local post office).

• Since our service is free of charge, an applicant is needed to provide postage fee in order to mail certificate back to the applicant. Otherwise, we would not responsible for lost or undelivered certificate.

Note: If criminal record is found or all required documents are not submitted, then, certificate may take longer than 7 business days.

I tried getting above info in Thai but website appears to of been hacked.

thanxk ubon but that is for a foreigner. i need one for a thai male. residing illegally in israel. applying for an israeli marriage/partner visa eventually. and the request is by the thai police, to the thai consulate here in israell. i just want to know if anyone has ever had that asked of them for their thai wives/husbands out of thailand?

my thai husband did not need any such document claiming he wanted to stay in israel. maybe he was asked in the police station in thailand? at any rate...

...a letter from the local thai consulate here in tel aviv for a letter stating that the guy WANTS to stay in israel...

This part is puzzling and I wonder if something got lost in translation. Most likely it needs to be a written statement signed by the man (affidavit), on which the Thai consulate certifies the man's identity and the authenticity of his signature.

I tried find info for a Thai residing outside but but could not find. But was hoping phone number or such from website would help.

I found this info for a Thai requesting a police certificate on US embassy website. It should apply for any Thai out side the country wanting a Police clearance certificate.

" Requesting letter from the embassy of the country that the applicant plans to travel"

thanx, yeah it seems that they need for him to officially claim that it is his request, since he is doing it long distance/remote ... so his girlfriend went off to the consulate yesterday for a chat; the guy needs to do a 'power of attorney' for his family member in thailand to take to the police along with the guy's id card and then he can get his police clearance paper officially mailed to here for adding to the application for visa...

but thanx for the help... i didn everything practically in thailand, cause my husband was legal before we applied; here the guy is illegally here so needs to do everything ina convoluted manner to get a temp. visa to enable him to apply for a family/marriage visa..
