My once a year trip to the embassy in BK is truly the worst day of the year for me.It's like traveling to another country thats only 70 km away.I wouldn't live there for all the tea money in Thailand.

I can see why it attracts the undesirables.Please keep them.

A good sense of humour keeps oneself at a safe distance, no need for a thick skin...on the other hand I reckon it's not so common for beyond a certain age, for some people, egos are real handicap

If the OP thinks expats living in Thailand are bad, he should meet some of the inbreds currently residing in Laos.

A large majority of them couldn't even hack it in Thailand so reverted to Laos, this really is the end of the line for expats.

a guy freaked at the food stalls. he got up abruptly and acted weird (mentally ill) and said he dif not like sitting with his back to people, because he was stabbed in laos in the back while eating. it was an expat with long hair, looked unkept.
