SATTAHIP:--Three monks were accused of selling class 1 drugs to other monks at Temples in Prajinburi Province and locally in the Plu Ta Luang area and were arrested on Sunday.

Local Government officials attached to the anti-narcotics unit in Sattahip District were aware of the drug dealing operation and used a monk residing at a Temple in the Plu Ta Luang area to lure one of the three monks to his abode on the promise of purchasing 3 Yabba Tablets in exchange for 800 Baht.

A secret camera was installed inside the room and ,as planned, the first target of the operation, Khun Wirayut aged 25, arrived and exchanged the drugs for the 800 Baht’s worth of marked notes. He led officers to the two other monks who were believed to be consuming drugs in a motel room also in the Plu Ta Luang area. Inside the room, the two other monks who were wearing civilian clothing, were found and a total of 4 Yabba Tablets were seized from them.

It is thought they were ordained together at the temple in Prajinburi and were then forced to relocate due to problems with the Chief Monk.
