TOT has 'shed its mortal coil' here in Plai Laem.

We were surveyed for a fibre connection from TOT and were delighted to be told it would be free as we were within 400mts of the 'main box'. However on install the cable guys demanded 12,000baht to in

  • Yes, I had a similar problem with an install at one of my sites... After they had installed the line at one of my sites, I had a call from one of my staff asking me to come and pay 3,000 baht... He

For quite a few of my neighbours (me included) - nothing from TOT at the moment. Some for almost two weeks. Lots of dead lines. They have 'shed their mortal coil' to quote Monty Python.

TOT's response. 'we have a problem with some of our lines - we are looking into it'. cheesy.gif

Oh joy facepalm.gif

Sorry, I should have said - we are north of Plai Laem.

tot adsl here in nathon is very very very slow for the past 2days...... ,4hours for downoald a 569mb series.....

TOT in Taling Ngam seems to be down...

We have fiber net combined with IPTV, when I look at the modem the light "LOS" is on! bah.gif

So we don't have fiber signal, best of all is that when my wife called the 24H customer service, they couldn't help us as they only run the ADSL section and could not verify if we have it around Taling Ngam or if its just us....

Anyone on Samui who's having the same problem?

FYI i'm online with my phone internet sharing, just in case wai.gif

Not the same problem - but referring to TOT - lots of problems with TOT lately. A few of my neighbours and customers have no internet service via TOT (ADSL) for over a week and my own TOT is now down. (I have 3BB backup and AIS Pocket wifi as well).

One thing that I noticed yesterday.

Thai web sites loaded quickly on TOT. Inernational ones - crrapp

But the bill will for sure NOT be as dysfunctional as their connection I presume dry.png

Just saw my neighbor and asked her if she still had internet, she did and told me that TOT came yesterday to do something at the distribution box, probably a new client connection.

But meanwhile we are affected by it cause they definitely damaged something while doing their job...

So if today no one come's to fix it, it'll be again a whole day without internet nor TV.

I wonder if it would be wishful thinking if asked them a compensation for these 2 days?

Good luck with that. I have a 100Mb TOT Fiber (costs me 10,000B/Month) and it was broken in the storms. It took them 5 days to come and fix it...

The billing process seems to be the only thing at TOT that works flawless. Not the sending of the bills (I get maybe half of the bills on time to pay them), but they cut the line immediately if no payment. tongue.png

5 days??? wtf-1.gif

Better be tomorrow like they said, it's no damage of storm or anything, it was just their incapability do their job without messing up someone else's connection in that splicing box.

Anyway, we'll see just keep on hoping for the best...

I can imagine, to bad there's no consumer right on that one, bet they'd have their hands full cheesy.gif

Just out of curiosity I switched to our TOT line and it seems that the problem I found a week ago with no Swedish sites working persists. I can imagine this being a huge problem for some Swedes working from here.

I can access Swedish site's but i don't look for porn which could be blocked by the Thai government.

Try a proxy.

That should work.

Since the power outage last Wednesday, quite a few TOT customers here at the pointy end of the island have had no (or dismal) internet access. sad.png

This morning, a help line representative admitted 'there is a major problem with our network and we are experiencing difficulty in fixing it. It may take another two or three days. If this is the case - you should request a discount when you pay your next bill.' thumbsup.gif

Make sure that you record the problem with TOT first. whistling.gif

They have been putting up their cables on the power lines.

Now when they are upgrading them they are in the way and the PEA people just cut them down.

I have a couple of villas that are experiencing problems with TOT internet. No service or intermittant/slow service.

Anyone else experiencing this?

(I am at the pointy end - Plai Laem area NE Samui.)

In the last couple days things have been a lot more stable thumbsup.gif

After they changed the router it was bad for nearly one week (I didn't ask them to change it...it was an 'upgrade' to the system bah.gif )
