Used Car Teststation In Bkk?

Featured Replies

Are there any independent teststations for used cars in Bangkok? I know my Jeeps, but apart from that I am not good at cars. Next week I am going to Bkk to have a look at a 2hand car, and wonder if there somewhere where I can drive and have the car checked by an independent tester. If yes, how much and how long time? Going to the area Pinklao/Minburi.

Thank you.wai.gif

well in theory any of the transport office test centres could do it.. the places with the yellow and blue sign with the gear wheel in it.. but they dont do much testing...so not sure how competent they are... any car is just common sense really. drive it, check for vibrations, make sure it drives straight and look all over it VERY carefully.

i would also bring a few screw drivers and a magnet.. lift carpet check for mold (flood damage) check electrical connections..have fun... oh and check the tyre dates..if more than 3-4 years old then bargain for replacements..same for battery, they only last about 2-3 years here in LOS.

Thanks for your reply! As we all know the "testing" at DLT is a joke. The electrical stuff is what scares me, because my knowledge is absolute ZERO! I know the tyre dates are important, but how do you read the code on the tyres?
