Thank you noob7,

Enter before date 5th nov 2012 on my first triple, tv entry, and my thai border stamp is upto 6th oct 2012.

so i will go the the thai office at chong chom and get a 30 day extention paying 19000 Baht , taking me upto the 5th nov 2012 , so on the 4th nov i will do a border hop and then get my 2nd entry on my triple tv, is that the way it goes , sorry to be so vague , but i have been told so meny different stories.

1900Baht, not 19000 whistling.gif

Extend now, do the visa run in November, that will work.

Entering 'before 5. of Nov.', looks to me, you paid a triple entry, that you can't use more, as a double.

Did you tell 'em (consulate), you wanna travel neighboring countries and leave Thailand, twice?

Or did they only wanted to charge more money?

Do you really have a triple visa in your passport? The 3000 Baht is saying yes, but the validity usually isn't!

How did you manage, to get the triple entry visa? What date did you get it?

1900B whoops ,

yes i have a triple tv visa in my passport , as you say the validity isn't, i got it doing the savan vegas visa run trip.

Date of issue 6th Aug 2012 at the Savannkhet thai embassy, the savan vegas visa run staff did the visa for me i did not have to go to the thai embassy there, that's why i did not notice the Enter before date untill i got back to my hotel in thailand.

I also have a reciept from the thai embassy saying i have paid 3000baht for a triple entry tourist visa.

It is useful if used for the purpose intended - travel. It is not so useful for staying long term in Thailand and that is the reason most Consulates in the area only allow 90 day validity for such visa issue.

Out of my view, it is very useful for staying, eh, traveling long term in Thailand, if valid 180 days whistling.gif

The interesting part is, they issue these triple entries in Europe with 180 days validity, but denying the +30.

Ok, they do not know about +30, not to sell only doubles, but: why not give only 120 days for the triple visa, then?

Ok, maybe a 'option' to issue tourist visas for 'travel reasons', told to the consulate by the visa runner.

They (savan)offered you the triple before you started, i guess. Did they offer double, too?

They just asked me what type of visa i wanted , and i paid the visa staff there at the hotel for the triple.

Sorry to jump back in, but to say these visas issued in Europe are valid for 180 days is just not true, as my case here in Bulgaria has demonstrated.

I know mine was for a 2 entry, but the same validity should apply to 2 or 3 entry tourist visas.

This list (courtesy of Hull Consulate UK) shows the countries whose citizens are allowed 60 days per entry with a tourist visa:

1. Australia 2. Austria 3. Bahrain 4. Belgium 5. Brunei 6. Canada

7. Denmark 8. Finland 9. France 10.Germany 11.Greece 12.Iceland

13. Indonesia 14. Ireland 15. Israel 16. Italy 17. Japan 18. Kuwait

19. Luxembourg 20. Malaysia 21.Monaco 22. Netherlands 23, New Zealand 24. Norway

25. Oman 26. Philippines 27. Portugal 28. Qatar 29. Singapore 30. South Africa

31. Spain 32. Sweden 33. Switzerland 34. Turkey 35. U A E 36. U K

37. U S A

All other nationalities are allowed 30 days.

So, it would appear that all 2 or 3 entry tourist visas issued in one of these countries would have validity of 180 days, and if from any other country, 90 days.

As is clearly stated on the MFA web site - three month validity is normal.

In general, the validity of a visa is 3 months, but in some cases, visas may be issued to be valid for 6 months, 1 year or 3 years. The validity of a visa is granted with discretion by the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General and is displayed on the visa sticker.

Sorry about your problem with the embassy in Bulgaria.

I'm from the 'early' Europe, that from before the cold war ends. the so called 'First world', me guess.

In my country, you get a triple entry with 180 days validity. And yes, it is on your list .Lucky, perhaps.

And as I wrote : I was surprised, to here about a triple entry, issued in the area!

I know this only, b/c I have one of these in an older passports, and a friend of mine is always taking one of these, for his ~6 month trips to Thailand, over the winter time.

He's taking this visa, because he dislike to extend visa. So he's doing 2 border runs, instead. visiting friends in Cambodia for a week or two, plus visiting the F1 in Malaysia.

This underlines the usefulness, if not importance, of specifically asking for a 6-month validity when necessary based on the travel itinerary. Another page on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently says this:

2. TOURIST VISA.

...

4. VALIDITY OF A VISA

The validity of a visa is 3 months or 6 months.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place. — George Bernard Shaw
