Hello

I`m British, currently in Pattaya on a single entry tourist visa obtained from Phnom Penh.

Entered Thailand on 10 August, " Admitted until 8 October."

If I go to Jomtien immigration( on say this Friday, the 5th) would I be able to extend this by 30 days ?

My guess is yes but a local travel agent has said I would only get 7 days.

Who is right please. ?

I was previously staying on a non imm O visa, doubt that is relevant though.

I have not booked a flight exiting Thailand yet but need to return to the UK later this month so could buy a flight ticket before going to Immigration and show it.

Thanks in advance.smile.png

Thanks seasia for asking that question and Lite Beer for answering.

Lite Beer, I have looked but can't find if you can have a tourist visa approved for longer than 30 days BEFORE YOU ENTER Thailand. Is it possible to have a longer visa than 30 days approved prior to entering?

Regards,

J

A tourist visa is 60 day entry for most nationalities. Believe you are thinking of the 30 day visa exempt when you arrive without a visa. The 60 days can be extended 30 days as mentioned above.

Yeah, most of the nationalities can extend 30 days in the immigration for 60 days tourist visa.

If could only extend 7 days is for obtained visa on arrival.

Actually 7 days is not an extension but a disapproved application for which they allow 7 days to depart. It can be obtained on any type of entry at discretion of immigration.
