Major Storm Coming?

Featured Replies

When I paid my rent this month, my landlord said that Saturday and Sunday there might be flooding--has anyone else heard of a major storm on its way?

Maybe can look HERE

where it is being discussed or go to the Thai Met Dept web site HERE

There is also some graphics of the storm track HERE

Weather.com says 60 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms over the weekend. Doesn't sound too scary.

By the time it goes through VN and Cambodia won't be much left in the way of strong winds but it may carry heavy rains.

er it's rainy season we get storms almost every night.

dont think the storm will amount to much here its more north east and central thailand forcast to be hit

Thai TV are broadcasting regular warnings of heavy rain and storms from Gaemi for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, including Chonburi province.

Yeah predictions now Sunday afternoon lots of rain.

Well it has started now!

Unreal how much rain is coming down.

Just looked out of my window, Thappraya Rd looks like a river running towards

Jomtien Hanuman Statue.

Lightening strikes seem to be right in the area, there's a farang couple standing at the edge

of the road, the male is topless and barefooted playing around in the torrent of water, absolutely

crazy!

My street is now a river. Worst I've seen it all year. blink.png

Seemed an entire rainstorm came down in about 5 minutes. blink.png

There's 2 typhoons coming through Vietnam - Cambodia - Thailand, forecasted to get as far as Bangkok, 1st expected this w/end. Of course they won't be typhoons by the time they get here but i'd expect it'll get wet.

Still quite some way to go before it reaches us....

My home in Pattaya, at La Bella Casa was flooded to 30cm, water all gone now.

Water ran off Soi Bongkot into the estate, flooded quickly.

Thappraya Rd has been ripped up from last night's rain just before the Hanuman Statue,

major roadworks have been started since the morning, exactly the same part ripped up last

September 2011.

You would have thought that a 2year old road would have been able to withstand all the rain,

but not only it ripped up after a few months from construction last year, but the repair has just

blown up again this year.

Anyway, if your thinking of driving in the area, then expect delays.

So has the storm been and gone? Out here in bang saray I have hardly seen a drop of rain during the day, last night it rained but nothing major.

No, Gaemi is coming soon.

Just started to rain here now nothing heavy though. Always a bit of an anticlimax these storms.

So thats it? That little bit yesterday?

Not a very powerful storm.rolleyes.gif
