What happens to the Thai Girls that are caught illegally working in Kuala Lumpur? (its a massage job)

- do they go to Jail? or are they just deported back to Thailand? (or could it be a mix of the two things?)

Does anyone know?

I know some people that went and did that.. and I was trying to tell them that they might end up in jail.

Maybe they end up as converted muslims?

one suspects they will be jailed for a period of time until it is established they are not wanted for other offenses, their identify is established etc and then deported

Wrong. That treatment is reserved for the patrons of the massage-shop=nuad Malay

i wouldn't know 'which' kind of massage shop they are working in... i can only guess

do you have any knowledge of how each may be treated?

Slightly off-topic, the massage place across the road from me has mostly Chinese staff, some of whom live in my building.

I would guess that they are legitimate, with work permits, since they walk to and from work in their uniforms.

I've not asked the Thai and Indonesian ladies serving in the pubs about work permits; there's some of them live upstairs from the Gasthaus, where the bar staff are Nepalese or Burmese, I think.

How would we know?

Every country has it`s own laws regarding illegal workers. Why not inquire at the Malaysian embassy or do some research online?

One way or the other, if they are caught there won't be many happy endings dished out.....................
