MAJIC......stop talking garbage. The English have had no argument on our behalf with the EU, the English don't exist in the eyes of the EU.

The UNITED KINGDOM is a member of the EU, not England!!!!

This is the problem with all you Little Englanders...........you don't even know what country your a citizen of. coffee1.gif

Obvious contrary to common belief, endorsed by Salmond,Scotland will not sail unhindered into the EU,in fact they will have to rejoin.

Another shall we politely say hm! mistatement from Salmond. And that's what people like you think, every door will open on command. Get real!

I shall resist the temptation of calling you a little Scotlander, and get into a verbal tennis match with you, which is what you seem to specialise in.

No doubt you will be asking for evidence of Salmonds extreme embarressment over yet more of his Porkies, read and digest! this is the man the general Public are struggling to have confidence and credibility in

http://www.guardian....sh-independence

I specialize in understanding Scottish politics. I also specialize in understanding that the Guardian is a Left Wing Pro Unionist newspaper in the pocket of the British Labour Party.

Don't be sending me Guardian links, it's just Labour Party propaganda. smile.png

There is no mechanism to strip current EU citizens of citizenship, and we Scots are EU citizens.

There is no way the EU will refuse membership to a democratically elected Scottish government.

If you believe otherwise then you will need to go study the reason why the Common Market was formed, and to understand that the EU is the greatest post war success story in the World. smile.png

ps. That Youtube clip is comical cheesy.gif

It's pretty obvious that if some information doesn't suit your point of view, then you go into Destroy and Attack mode, and completely ignore the articles because the media is not on your approved reading list,so it doesn't count. Even the revered Google is not good enough for you,but perversely Wiki is.which is odd, because it can be written by anyone,or indeed altered and updated by anyone.

I have to say it The Blether: A more pathetic way of debating I have yet to come across. Small wonder other Posters can't get straight answers from you.

Carry on in your little dream World,.....that you think Salmond is a Genius,......Scotland holds all the negotiating cards,......England has nothing to bargain with.........Scotland has automatic right to EU membership,........ You can use our Fiscal system with no penalty,.......we will still pay for your Social Security People..........give Scotland 2/3rds of the Oil Platforms and wells paid for by the English............

Whats really comical is that you actually believe all this Bunkum! Unfortunately The Blether, the reality of the truth, when it finally hits you,is going to be extremely painful and some..............

The Scottish will easily see through the likes of Salmond, and if it's a yes vote it will be a miracle, after all the years he has been in office, right now he should be able to refy on a 70% Yes vote, instead of that today a poll gave 30% Yes vote.

In short the depth of mistrust for Salmond speaks volumes, but you already know that, that's why you protest too much!

Oh no no no......you've got it all wrong!!!

I haven't went on Destroy and Attack mode.......I'm responding to people who palpably don't have a clue what's happening here. I could easily provide you with the answers but I prefer to see you squirm.

This is a prime example of people literally not knowing what they are talking about, it's tragi-comedy gold.

So MAJIC.......why do you think I posted those photos above?

ps. Read links before you send them, you'll end up with egg on your face otherwise. From your Guardian link..........

"A source close to the president said Van Rompuy would not be campaigning against Scottish independence. "The president would never involve himself in a national dispute."

Your photos didn't come out, same as your argument really,no substance, pure conjecture, and full of nothing, other than Mutton dressed as Lamb, and tarted up to try and look mysteriously knowledgeable,Sorry The Blether I don't accept wiki links,as being a relyable source either.

Let's hope the Genius doesn't research through Wiki.

1. I've now posted three links saying he did want a second question. If these quotes attributed to him are wrong, why has he not denied it and asked for retractions?

2. How many more times! Reports from actual UN meetings do not mention Scottish independence at all. All you have to back up your claim is one throwaway line in one newspaper opinion piece about speculation!

Your assertion that no one will talk about it due to 'political protocol' and not wanting to effect the referendum result is obviously rubbish; as the speculation about Scottish independence and the EU by no less a person than the EU president, various EU commissioners and the Spanish government show.

BTW, there is a big difference between opining on what may happen to an independent Scotland's position in the EU and actively campaigning against (or for) Scottish independence; as any fool should know.

3. Waffle; you're the expert in that!

You wont answer my questions, but I'll answer yours.

Firstly; which Tam Dalyell do you mean?

Tam Dalyell of the Binns?

Who, as I'm sure you know, was a Scottish general in the 17th century and is known as 'Bluidy Tam' for his violent suppression of the Scottish Covenanters. Hardly a role model for a good Scot, I'd have thought.

Or the 11th Baronet, his namesake; former Labour MP and now Labour peer Tam Dalyell?

Odd that you have dismissed a Guardian article because the Guardian is "in the pocket of the Labour Party" and prints "Labour propaganda" yet seem to place great store in what a Labour politician has said!

So what did he say?

Well, in 2003 he said that Tony Blair was "unduly influenced by a cabal of Jewish advisors." That is a racist slur; a Guardian article, so you wont believe it. But a quick search will turn up many more confirming the story; and the fact that not only has he never denied saying it, he's actually confirmed that he did say it, and more in a similar vein!

Or do you mean Scottish independence: Abolishing Holyrood should be option - Tam Dalyell?

Now, I've answered your question; when will you answer mine?

Don't say, yet again, "What questions?" You know full well what questions, but you simply don't want, or more likely can't, answer them.

You say "I could easily provide you with the answers but I prefer to see you squirm." What a pathetic excuse!

You also say "This is a prime example of people literally not knowing what they are talking about." Go on, then; enlighten us. I dare you.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again; put up or shut up. At the moment all you are doing is embarrassing yourself!

BTW, the photos you uploaded don't show for me; holiday snaps of you and your mate Alex were they?

Edit; MAJIC got there first on the photo issue; glad it's not just me..

So do you reckon that independence will give us the same nationalistic Protestant work ethic for which we are allegedly famous yet Singapore enjoys?

It's comical beyond belief

The photos were on the thread, they were seen by others, if they have been removed take it up with forum support.

7x7.......you've got it all wrong, you're now ranting and completely missing the point. I'll ask you one more time.....

What did Tam Dalyell say?

What did Tam Dalyell say?

The 11th Baronet, Sir Thomas Loch, to give "Tam" his proper name, merely rehashed a quote by Gladstone from the 1880's concerning Home Rule for Ireland..... Next?

I can't find anyone to shine my shoes so things must be going well enough.

As the apparent master of this subject did think you might know the origin of Sir Thomas of the Binns' famous quote, if not you could always Google it....

Certainly the lack of knowledge of the current Scottish political arena is amusing. Jack McConnell eh....oh yes....every rose has his thorn! cheesy.gif

Quite right Smokie..........Instant Google experts commenting on things they haven't got a clue about.......and misinterpreting what they are looking at.......watch this one.

7x7.......at what point did Rompuy mention Scotland in his answer......note answer.....on that youtube clip?

Huh?

I know the answer....you obviously don't.

What 7x7 is saying is that some members (including me) never see any pictures that you post. We just see the little graphic with a cross on it. Perhaps you ought to post in forum support.

Why would you take such an apparently conceited view? Google is a great search engine....give it a try.

Strange that......it got a Like from another member that saw it.

I'll post them again tomorrow

I don't think that will make any difference. I've been back in your previous posts and I can't see any piccies you've posted at all. I'm not sure what it is. As I said you might want to mention it in forum support. There are people in there who know how all the techy stuff works.

This is not a response worthy of anything. I know the Tam Dalyell comment well, it is correct in its assumption. The origin is unimportant....it is the effect which we should discuss now.

I suggest the English contingent on this thread start bringing facts to the table.

The Scots are highly amused at how obtuse and lacking in basic knowledge you are......and yet you unleash rant after rant.

Salmond has run rings round the Unionist parties, the tragedy is.....you don't know why.

"If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again"

This from the Master of misinterpreting, who in addition, will only accept media reports etc, that HE thinks supports his view.

So all those who disagree with you are bigots! Yet another mature answer; NOT!

You have still not answered my questions; when will you do so?

You refuse to answer questions put to you, but get into hissy fits when your questions aren't answered! Very adult of you; NOT!

All you do is say that we are ignorant of the facts. Instead of calling us 'bigots' why don't you educate us?

Why don't you tell us the facts?

I repeat, for the last time; answer the questions; put up or shut up.

If yet again you fail to do so and simply come up with yet another feeble excuse or childish insult instead then you will be confirmed as the ignorant one here!

I would like to apologise for the massive error I made when I said to theblether

It's taken 6 pages and 142 replies, but finally someone has outlined the case for Scottish independence in a rational way; thank you.

As his subsequent posts have proved; I was completely wrong!

I'm setting you up 7x7......and your falling for it headfirst.

You don't have a clue.

Later today I will give a full run down and explanation to the background of this referendum.

It will run into a few thousand words and will take me a while to write and provide links.

It will be an eye opener to many people. I've toyed with 7x7 long enough.
