kurtmartens Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 For some reason I was looking at the back of a 100 Baht note in my wallet the other day and notice it wasn't the normal picture. It was a new back with the Crown Prince on it (picture of the Crown Prince kneeling in front of HM). I haven't seen this "new" (?) note in wide circulation, just this one note ... now I am checking every 100 Baht note I come across. Has anyone else this this new 100 Baht note?
Mario2008 Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 Yes, it is a real banknote. I don't see them often, but they are in circulation.

Beetlejuice Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 These 100 baht notes were minted about a year ago and are a limited edition to commemorate something to do with the Prince, but can’t remember exactly. There are still a few that can be bought for 200 baht from the banks in a special presentation sleeve. A couple of months ago some special 80 baht notes were available from the banks in presentation sleeves to commemorate the Queen’s birthday, these were available for 140 baht. A few of these notes have somehow hit general circulation, maybe worth keeping as a collector’s item if the notes are in good condition.
kurtmartens Posted October 23, 2012 Author Posted October 23, 2012 Like this ? Bank note news Yup that was/is it David, thanks. I knew they were legit, just in the couple years I've lived here I haven't come across these and neither has my wife (Thai).
