Two Foreigners Found Dead In Bangkok Hotel Room

A 27-year-old Australian and a 31-year-old Canadian were found dead in their Bangkok hotel room by the maid. Police assume the two men had overdosed on drugs after noticing a mysterious white powder on a desk.

Taxi driver jailed for trying to block PM's motorcade

BANGKOK: -- A taxi driver on Friday received a one-month suspended jail term and a fine of Bt5,000 for reckless driving while trying to block the motorcade of Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra.

Pongpicharn Thanathirapong, 49, pleaded guilty to the charges of reckless driving and blocking traffic lanes with his taxi when he was arraigned in the Dusit District Court.

Pongpicharn was accused of blocking the motorcade of the prime minister with his taxi Thursday afternoon while the motorcade was on the Phitsanulok in front of Government House.

Public prosecutors said Pongpicharn drove his taxi at a high speed in pursuit of the PM motorcade's using the opposite lane then cut in front in front of the motorcade. His driving caused damage to the vehicles of Thai Post and Channel 7 reporters, who were following the motorcade.

PC Air operation licence suspended
