Hello there,

I am looking for some advice regarding visa runs to Cambodia. I have a 90 day single entry visa and I need to make a trip over to the border to another country, stamp out, and reapply for a new visa. I want to go to Cambodia, but I have heard from some friends that application process at the Thai Embassy in the Phnom Penh can be difficult. Either it takes longer than 2 days or it basically a waiting game on the second day.

Usually Visa Run's should take 2 days... leave your visa the first morning, return the following afternoon to pick it up. I've already done a Visa Run in Lao and the process was quite simple and easy.

Does anyone have any experience in reapply for a 90 day single entry visa in Cambodia?

Anything helps:)

Thanks!

I have an Non-immigrant "0" Single Entry Visa. Are you sure it takes 4 working days? Is there anything I can do to get it sooner?

Volunteering requires a work permit. If you have a work permit it will be easy to get a 1 year extension of stay from immigration inside Thailand. The biggest problem is often for the organisation you volunteer for to get their act together and do the paperwork.

Without acompaning letters from the organisation you will not get a non-O.

I have an non-o and a WP and all the proper documentation, I just need an extension.

If you have a work permit there is no need to go abroad. Just have the organisation call your regional immigration office and see which documents they require for an extension of stay. It isn't that difficult and no minimum income is required.

The extension will either be for 90 days or for 1 year, depending on which documents the organisation can show.

For a large part it will be the same documents as for the work permit.
