November 4, 201213 yr To save me gas and frustration running all over the city looking, maybe someone knows what store has 2 part epoxy paint by the liter..........Preferably white color. Thanks in advance.....
November 4, 201213 yr I don't know if they have 1 litre cans, but the home pro at the old Carrefour on the superhiway defiantly had 4 lt cans of Jotun Pengard enamel, which is a 2 pack epoxy. Not very good on wood that's out in the weather I found to my disappointment.

Not very good on wood that's out in the weather I found to my disappointment. Hey PL......back in LOS?? The purpose that I need it for is to coat the inside of a teak water barrel that will be in the shade. It's built like a normal barrel with staves and rings [hoops?] on the outside, but the leaks are getting stronger and I have patched it with silicone, but found that teak is such an oily wood the silicone won't stay for long. I may one day in the future convert it from a water barrel into a hot tub. Thanks for the tip on home pro and hopefully see you some day.
November 4, 201213 yr Car body filler in the big cracks (go for the red hardener type) in Global, 100 baht tops, with a couple layers of oil-based poly over the top? Or perhaps lacquer mixed with teak wood sawdust...
November 4, 201213 yr No, I'm freezing my arse off in uk. How about Flintkote #3, bitumen based, ok for potable water. I've used it on concrete tanks & it works great. Fairly tough once it's dried.
November 4, 201213 yr Author Arse?? that's British for 'ass'....eh? Cooling a bit here, but still warm days. That Flintkote, bitumen base doesn't come in white, does it?? I think that I used it once for sealing a cement pond and the only color I could find was brownish black, but I would prefer a clean smooth white finish, easy to clean..
November 5, 201213 yr Author PL....I failed to read that it was a 4 liter can of Jotun and way more than I need. I did go by Home Pro today and found it, but at 1,990thb, it would be too much waste and I'm sure that it has a shelf life. Anyone out there that would want to split a 4 liter can of white epoxy?? or know of another source of 1 liter cans??
November 5, 201213 yr Author I did hear of an art and craft shop near the moat that is supposed to have epoxy resin in liter cans.....can anyone confirm and if they do have it, would they have tents so I can change it from clear to white?? It gets so frustrating that you can't just pick up the yellow pages and find a supplier and give them a call to confirm.
June 28, 201312 yr Bit late but FYI teak has such a high resin content.....the reason for it's rot resistance....that when I was working on a wooden boat in the UK years back I remember it was recommended to scrub the wood in acetone to dissolve out the near-surface resin or oil before any painting. I am now looking for smaller sizes maybe litres of epoxy also. Need colours not just black or white. Any new source information very welcome. Is the Jotun shop on the superhighway still going? Thanx!
