I was in Chang khong about 6 monts ago , there seemed to be a lot of new construction near the bridge was woundering how the area is coming along and the bridge?

looking for an up date on the area, development and other things

The bridge span is completed. Side rail and road surfacing is ongoing. Immigration /Customs Offices both sides is ongoing. One large river resort Thai side and one smaller hotel/resort Lao side is ongoing.

Along the new access road to the bridge, a few intended development announcement signs have been put up and a few dirt roads have been graded into those development areas.

Official opening of the bridge has been announced as 12/12/12. The Immigration/Customs Offices and resorts both sides will lag a few months.

Company truck depot/warehousing is gradually locating along the 1020 highway, mostly between Chiang Khong and the new access road entrance to the bridge at Baan Tung Ngoi Village.

Immediate area of the bridge has seen almost no development. Highway 1020 around Baan Tung Ngoi Village has seen road widening and beautification, resurfacing, and a few new/upgraded small shops.

I should be there some time in January to look over the land i have near the bridge

i have a few rai of land. bought it there some time back. Nice piece with teak trees.
