Working At Temple - Paid By Us Ngo - What Visa?

Featured Replies

Hello All and thank you for this forum.

I have been in Khao Lak, Thailand as a tsunami volunteer for four months and currently possess a 30-tourist visa. I have to do a visa run to Burma via Ranong every thirty days.

Now I've been hired by an NGO (Non-Governmental Organization) from the US (I'm a US citizen) to be a Project Manager in Bangkok for a trade school being built at one of the Buddhist temples. I will be paid by this NGO, and not by the temple. The project is slated to last about 4-6 months.

What kind of visa can I get? A one-year visa would be great.

What kind of letter do I need and who do I send it to?

Can I do this in Bangkok?

Thanks for your help and I hope I get the answers here on this great forum!

John
