They are Korean lenses.

The best brand is Geo.

And you can get them on Sukhumvit, right next to the genuine Viagra sold in dozens of street kiosks.

No thanks, I like my eyesight...

I don't like them at all, Thai women have beautiful dark eyes and covering them up is just wrong, they simply look ugly on some women. I was talking about them to an optomatrist a while ago and she said that can cause damage to some people's eyes.

Any reputable optometrist has them for sale, and they will even measure your eyes and get the prescription you need and determine whether your eye ball is suitable for free.

This company literally have thousands of outlets across Thailand. (solly - website in Thai)

I agree on the idea of using a qualified professional even if lenses are for purely (IMO silly) cosmetic purposes.

But I'd suggest identifying one the same way you'd look for a good doctor rather than retail channels - solid professional qualifications won't be expensive here anyway.

I've always been a bit suspicious of that particular chain. Beautifully presented facilities and staff (almost as high an aesthetic hiring standard as Swensen's IMO). But I've very very rarely seen an actual customer in the many hundreds of shops stuck away in the most unlikely locations.

My theory is that they have one of those unusual business models you see from time to time in this part of the world, where success doesn't depend on actual sales volume.

Don't know what the hoo haa is. Each to their own preferences. blink.png

I'm wearing a pair right now, standard size with a silver/grey effect. Nothing creepy at all, not like the lizard eye ones available, quite striking really and at 290B for the 30 day version, really quite affordable.

Are you aware that even under the right circumstances, there are medical complications associated with the wearing of contact lenses? These are medical devices and have to be dispensed accordingly. It means having visiting a professionals who will measure the eye and order the right size lens. I feel sorry for the fools that buy these cosmetic lenses over the counter, not realizing that some of the lens providers in Thailand do not observe basic safety procedures. It's not a one size fits all product, and yet many young people will purchase them from questionable retailers.

Just in case your post is directed at me, maybe you happened to read my post three posts before this one....

And to answer the other member's suspicion, every Top Charoen branch I have used, which would number four, has a qualified optometrist in store.

I have no suspicions about the chain your recommended wrt professional competence compared to other retailers, my comments were admittedly OT, something I've always wondered about here.

For myself I'd still stick to the approach I recommended, at least for a general check up and prescription.

The retail-level guys I'm sure are fine for people that already know their eyes are OK and just looking for lens fittings.
